I doubt there were negotiations. I dont think Cavill would try to get a huge pay increase that WB would balk at.

i honestly don't have faith in wb producing a good superman movie anymore.

but i'm happy for cavill if he's moving on.
his potential for superman was squandered...how much of that was the studio or snyder's direction, is up for debate.

but it is what it is.

hopefully, cavill can get other movie roles that will be more rewarding.

Last year there was news from reliable outlets that Henry was in talks to return, and then more recently during the Fisher drama it came out that the studio had reached out to some of the Justice League actors about appearing in the Flash movie.

He was following 132 people last month and today it's still at 132. If fan accounts that stalk celebrities are saying he never followed WB/DC then that's all the evidence you need

Not that it matters. I've long been in the camp of Cavill being done for a while now. WB just hasn't made it official for some reason

Studios generally don't make a point of announcing actor departures unless it was for something problematic. They didn't say anything about Ben either; the confirmation came when he did that Jimmy Kimmel interview.

Nobody mentioned a pay raise. What is known is both Deadline and Variety reported last year that Henry was in negotiations to possibly return as Superman, and nothing was ever reported after that. Ergo, it's safe to assume things didn't work out.

Some weeks after Brandon Routh's contract expired, some Exec said that they thought he was excellent Clark Kent and he has their best wishes for the future.

Now, they say nothing after someone's contract is not renewed.

True, I never looked at who he follows before, so it could be just someone running with a fake story. I do see that DC Comics still follows Henry Cavill, so if that changes, I guess that could mean something.

Cavill never unfollowed those accounts, I follow a fair few Cavill fans that I would say are “hardcore” Henry Stans. They say he never did and believe me they notice this stuff.
