I don't like the fake abs on the suit, but other than that, great suit.

The suit is a masterpiece, perfect in every imaginable way. The colors are also perfect on the suit. There was nothing wrong with the colors on the suit, but how it was photographed. The movie was shot with a very restrained color palette.

If you slightly up the saturation, the suit looks as amazing as you want it to.

Slumcat can you work on the sequel please? Those colours are so much nicer then the cold blues we got! :oldrazz:

The only change I would make would be to make the yellow there black. Having him paint the shield black in mourning of the citizens who died would be a good reason.

In some ways, I felt like Cavill had to play the part with one hand tied behind his back. He didn't get to play Daily Planet Clark till the end. I think Daily Planet Clark is the easiest way to humanize the character and endear him to audiences.

I think Cavill did a terrific job.

^ Exactly. He didn't really even get to be FARMBOY Clark. For the most part, he was pretty much "outcast Clark" which I think ironically makes him seem more distant, since a person without real friends must have some underlying issue. In this case, Superpowers :P

I can't believe he hasn't any friends.
Superman needs to know more people in MOS 2.

Slumcat: awful, it's too dark :(

So, what's new between Henry and Gina?
Will we finally know if he's still with her?
(one of the only things that I wanna know right now)

Maybe a black S shield on the cape (in mourning of the dead citizens). That would be better, imo.

I love the yellow :yay:

even the abnormal fake abs? :p

Maybe they should just cut out the midsection and have Cavill's real abs pop through. :o

But yeah the abs are problematic, a lot of people have pointed out that they look fake. The abs definitely need more work (not from Cavill's side lol but) from the costume department. They should do more tests and all to get them to look more realistic.

But like you said, the rest? Perfecto.

Look these stills from his Mexican standoff with Faora. Here the lighting is better, he's not standing with his back to the sun (which darkened the suit in the above picture) but probably facing it. And the suit lights up perfectly and looks pretty great.

Yeah. The completely overdid the loner aspect of Kent. Trust me, I know some friendless people in real life and they are extremely creepy and off-putting. You can sort of see that they deserve it at one level. Being so completely friendless like Kent IS very weird.

They should address that in the next way and make him a more sociable person, not some loner creep.

Welling had a bigger demographic than Cavill has.

HOW?? Seriously? Henry appeals to men and women in a way Welling never did. Women love him and men are interested in him way more than they were Welling - yes mainly because of the whole work out/body thing, but still...

I watched MOS with my brother and his flatmate on Friday, and right after the film ended they were both on their laptops looking up Henry Cavill interviews and work out info etc, and both professed within about 40 mins of the film being on to having 'huge man-crushes' on him. It was NEVER like that with Welling, no way...

Anyway, here's our Henners in the gym again yesterday working out - and there's that curl again - AND to the person who commented on his hair the other day, it also looks like he's had a haircut on the sides! Maybe he visits this forum and took our advice about needing a trim haha....

Why can't he just have that hair for at least one scene in the sequel? He has the spitcurl in seriously all of these recent pictures hahah

Even if photographed with warmer and more saturated colors – I still want the blue to be a bit lighter.

I would hope that by the next film, he'll have come out of his shell a bit.

I mean, the main reason for Clark's loneliness was because he was essentially hiding himself from the world, only partaking in anonymous heroics here and there when fate called for it. Lois described him as a 'ghost' during this period ..... moving from place to place, using different names, etc.

By the end of MOS, things have changed radically for him though. He has a name - Superman - and the entire world knows how he is. He's found his calling, so to speak, and that should bring him satisfaction. Along with that, he's also found out his entire background, where he's from, and why he's here on Earth. There's no need for him to drift through life as a loner anymore.

The challenge in the next film will be for the world to fully accept him. I would imagine (and hope) that Snyder takes a realistic route, with public opinion quite divided on him, just like it is on any popular issue. Yes he saved the world .... but he's still an alien who was to blame for at least some of the massive collateral damage sustained by Metropolis. There will be those who see him as a saviour, but also those who see him as a threat.

I agree that they could have showed Clark interact more with at least one or two friends in childhood, but, to be fair, he had a few different things going on.

Because of his many differences, Clark was bullied and harassed to a large extent. During the scene where he runs away from his teacher, we also hear (from one of the other students) that his parents never allowed him to play with other children. So, the kid couldn't make any long lasting friendships (in childhood) even if he wanted to -- his father Jonathan was too afraid that he would slip and use his powers in a way that could lead to a number of obvious problems. Then, when he got older, Clark decided to go against Jonathan's wishes because he felt that using his powers to help other people was the responsible thing to do. Unfortunately, once he displayed such powers in public, he couldn't really stick around. He had to keep moving.

I never got the impression that Clark was an absolute loner. I think there were people whom he was friendly with, and people who were friendly to him. He just never allowed himself to get too close to them, for fear of what they might see.

The waitress at the truck stop is a good example. The smile they exchange is brilliant and sweet, and hints at the possibilities of something more than just co-workers.

Once he was out of high school and traveling, it gave him more of an opportunity to grow as a person.

The junior novelization "prequel" is awfully cute, and gives a great example of why Clark's parents wouldn't let him play with other kids. I wish they had done a scene like that in the film, to sort of show (to people who need to have things explained) why Clark couldn't be trusted to play with other children.

Basically, Lana comes over for a play date when they're both three. Clark picks her up and throws her in the air. Luckily her mom didn't see it happen, but Martha realized right away that they couldn't let Clark play with other kids, because he could end up hurting them without meaning to. It would have been funny, but also a little sad, to have something like that in the film.

Agreed on all except from this.. Jonah only problem and fear was the world wasn't ready to see him (he was never against helping people) He saw Clark's potential and HE was teaching him all aspects trought Clark's life and experiences cause he kept him from a greater purpose: SUPERMAN!!

I never said Jonathan was against helping people -- just that he didn't want Clark to do it if it meant putting himself at risk.

only when he knows Clark can't control his abilities as a kid or when he wasn't ready to use them and the people see that kind of power yet... but yeah you have a point...

I agree that Superman should look brighter to show progress from MOS and to differentiate himself from Batman.

Cavill looks better in all these stills than in the movie. Weird.

Those scenes are from the movie :woot:
