Isn't Supes supposed to be infinitely more intelligent than Lois?
What gives you that idea?
Isn't Supes supposed to be infinitely more intelligent than Lois?
Brainiac is one of the most intelligent beings in the universe and Superman is able to defeat him on a regular basis. I don't know if Lois is capable of that.

Even Superman did not use it. He was away fighting that giant arm thing in the Indian ocean. The military used that idea. So basically the idea was the king in his case. And Lois came up with it!
Isn't Supes supposed to be infinitely more intelligent than Lois?
No. It's never been implied that Lois is less intelligent than Superman. Except when it came to never figuring out that Superman is Clark Kent. That's why that whole scenario is just stupid, and I'm glad they dispensed with it.
Besides, a good leader knows when to listen to other people's ideas, and also knows how to utilize all the members of the team in order to get the best result possible.
It's nice, because by surrounding himself with human allies that he treated as equals, it reinforced the idea of Clark's humanity.
amazing postThe solution to defeating Brainiac usually involves punching. And lots of it!![]()
I recall reading somewhere that Superman is supposed to have super human intelligence but it is hardly ever brought up in movies or shows. On Smallville Clark couldn't tie his shoes unless someone was telling him how to do it.
In TAS he used intelligence to defeat that other dimensional villain whose name starts with an "M", I'm not even going to try and remember how it's spelled. Someone mentioned that in MOS Clark is supposed to be smart because he is reading Plato or Socrates as a teenager.
I always thought Kryptonians in general were supposed to be more "advanced" and evolved than humans, and just naturally more intelligent. Although I guess that aspect of his character probably changes back and forth with every interpretation.
I think they do these things simply as a form on name-dropping. In 'On The Road', they showed Kristen Stewart reading Proust for chrissakes! In Lois and Clark he would go through novels or texts in a few seconds by flipping through books. It was meant to show off his super speed, that his eyes could cover so many lines and his hands could flip so many pages so quickly. But it also shows his intelligence, since it's hard for the mind to process all that text. He's also the first person to understand that Lex is evil, he also figures out some neat tricks. One time he he has to be in two places at the same time, and he uses a mirror to split his heat vision into two.
In smallville season 2, I think in the red kryptonite episode, we saw that he didn't need to spend time on his math homework. In the first episode of smallville, we saw him reading a book by Nietzsche.
His intelligence does come off in some of the DCAU features, in particular in All-Star Superman.
In MoS, I think that 9 year old Clark was reading Plato's Republic, which is mostly (entirely?) dialogues with Socrates. It would have been more meaningful if themes from that book had come up in the movie, or if Clark had lifted a quote by Plato to argue against Zod's vision.

Disclaimer: Just a bit of harmless fun, all for a laugh, not intended to insult anyone.
Now, I love MOS. I thought the action was spectacular, and I think Cavill did a SUPERb job. I can't wait to see what he brings to the table for MOS2/BVS.
Upon watching the movie, I'd share some of my opinions with you guys
I feel sometimes, Cavill literally looks like Supes fell out of a comic book - like here for instance:

Or here:

But then, he chooses to pull a face like this:

- and it, well, just puts me right off. What is he doing here, concealing a super fart?
Also, upon re-visiting the film, there are an awful lot of moments in this film, where Cavill chooses to pull a utterly super-slappable face - like so:

"Why did you say that? No, seriously, why? That hurt me. It's not what you said, per se, it's more the way you said it. I'm the embodiment of innocence. I'd never hurt a fly. Just remember that next time, okay?"

Dear God.
Just my two cents.
lol. These be funny! You can make a collage out of these! And Cavill does make some strange facial expressions, the Immortals is full of those. Though in that one, he is mostly just screaming his guts out. Even in interviews he raises one eyebrow a lot of the times which I find totally cheesy. That also kinda makes him perfect for Bond by way of Roger Moore!The-Utterly-Annoying-Facial-Expressions-Henry-Cavill-Chooses-To-Make-During-His-Portrayal-As-Superman

Dear God.
t:You missed one, though. The face he made to Lois before he took off to fight the World Engine was funny. Right before he says "..but it wouldn't stop me from trying.." He looks down at the ground while saying it and does a funny face there. Cracked me up. But in all seriousness, I love what Cavill adds. He's perfect for the role and stepped right out of a comic book. Look is key.
Now, we'll get to see him smile more.

Is it this one?I noticed the facial expressions, too, but they actually added weight to his interpretation. Cavill is an intense dude. He takes **** serious, even like someone said, in interviews as well. He's a collected individual. His role was to play a very conflicted character, so his duty was to perform such facial expressions.
