I dislike RDJ and I think he had a lack of charisma :p
He may be funny sometimes, I find him arrogant and stupid. A real dumbass.

I prefer Henry. And Henry is charismatic to me. IRL or in MOS.
Mostly because I like people with a similar personality as Supes or Henry.
Classy, respectful, kind, and everything.
Henry can be funny at times too :)
But to me, only the heroes like Robin can be very funny (because they're not the main characters, just the guys who follow the hero's steps.) Exception: Spiderman!

From Thenextnolan wich I completely agree:
The same awards show were the Twilight movies swept like 3 years in a row? :whatever: And I'm really getting irritated about how MOS did "okish" B.O. For a non-sequel and start of a franchise, it did strong numbers. Only reason why it might've underwhelmed for some is because of Jeff Robinov's crazy remark of how MOS will be their biggest film ever.
oh man. got headache to see just to see the twilight name. how could twilight movies making billions???!!! they are so terrible...

I prefer Iron Man 3 to Man of Steel. But I prefer Superman to Iron Man, so I'm more likely to watch Man of Steel than Iron Man 3. Weird.
ironman 3 is a super boring movie to me. maybe i don't buy the "invincible flaming" villains idea, whatever they called them. i think the attack to his house is too dumb. i love the plane saving though.

I liked Iron Man 3 overall, but I have to admit that it was the one time where I felt like RDJ was phoning it in a bit. He had some great moments, but whenever he did his whole anxiety attack routine, it felt so half-assed to me.

Oh yeah, and the fire-breathing scene was stupid. But I still liked the film.

Doesn't hold a candle to MOS though in my book.

The cape was added in as CGI in most of the scenes in the film.

That kind of disappoints me; but the cape still looked freakin amazing and I guess one reason it did look so good was because it was cgi.

I wish they had actually shown how he got there and came up with the DP clark idea. There was an annoying time skip after Zod's death and I wanna know what happened in between.

That was definitely a flaw, one second he is devestated the next he is being a smart a-- to the general. For the luv of Mike there needed to be some explanation there! It's not just Supes/Clark who come off like "who cares about what happened in Metropolis" but all the characters!

The Hobbit isn't nominated for anything either.

I somehow doubt that's an indictment on that series.

Imagine how cool Batman's cape is gonna look on film -- like a thing of nature. :wow:

When, in one of the TV spots, we saw the shot of Faora walking to a pod and her cape blows up just so, I said "THAT'S what the next Batman cape should look like if Snyder does Justice League". I guess I'll get it. :woot:

Also, I'm watching the MoS special features on bluray as I type this and... whenever they use the real cape, it still looks spectacular.

Cape porn FTW.

A sign of MOS weakness with audiences? We know it did not do well but MOS was completely shut out of People's Choice Awards which are voted on by the audience.

MOS and Cavill failed to land even a single nomination in any category.

I think the reviews and the okish box office (for a movie of its budget and marketing and expectation) have kinda indicated that MOS did not go down as well as hoped for by the studios.
The snub is clearly intentional. I wonder how did they select the nominations. Just by a group of people or a fair open vote....

If Batman was on there, ya'll know he gonna be on it. :o

I think that RDJ is incredibly talented actor, having said that ..... ... IM 3 was really bad movie, I cannot understand how it earned that much money..

Pepper having extermis powers, fire throwing villains (WTF ?), IM's remote controlled suits that kept getting smashed, lame plot, Fake Mandarin twist, Tony barely being in his IM suit, Pepper killing the villain, boy genius helping Tony, silly jokes.

MOS was a far better movie, it only need a longer run-time so that it's scenes could have some amount of breathing space between them.

Yep, what do you want, the film industry is swimming in mediocrity.

Just like Thor 2. Can't believe they make it into a comedy movie!!! The heroism gone totally. So terrible!

Where are the great director? now we're stuck with those childish movies oh God.

I know right?! Some of the comedy is gold(Loki) and the others is just pointless like [BLACKOUT]Thor riding a train[/BLACKOUT] or [BLACKOUT]putting up his hammer, only calling it back next minute.[/BLACKOUT]

Remember the days when Marvel was good in Phase I?

Excuse me but it isn't the director's fault. Alan Taylor is a very talented man (Game of Thrones, Mad Men, The Sopranos) and he actually told the press he gladly denies credit for the after credit scenes.
I am guessing the dispute he had with the studio was for comedy.

Ps : When i criticise Iron Man 3, I blame Shane Black's limited screenwriting abilites not his direction skills.

The comedy in those last 2 Marvel films is studio interfearance and bad screenwriting.

I'm not blaming the director i'm asking myself why the film industry is giving praise to those childish movies. I meant where are the directors in the film industry.

The thing is that Marvel Studios get applauded by the critics when they include comedy in their movies and they earn money, so the approach works for them.

Now, when DC movies try to include comedy they fail, when DC movies make serious toned movies the critics knock them down saying - "it lacked the right balance" or "movie takes itself too seriously" or "the movie is pretentious" .

I would give my right arm for Black's "limited" writing ability. If I could say I had written unquestionable screen classics like KISS KISS... and LETHAL WEAPON I could die a happy man.

Must so much of the conversations that go on in cyberspace always lead to the summit of Hyperbole Mountain?

I know right !

Same with Marvel comics. They put 3+ supermega crossovers full of michael bay explosions and shallow plotlines and no one bats an eye, DC does Trinity War and Forever Evil(after 2 whole years of sticking to their guns and doing only title wide crossovers which are copmprehensible without reading all the titles) and everybody loses their minds.

He made a deal with the First of the Fallen for those 2 flicks then he tried to save his sould with a second bargain. The devil told him " i will not take your soul but you will be damned into using the same stupid humour, christmas setting, ship scenery, minority guy/white guy team up, kidnap plot device and annoying sidekicks in every movie you make.

I used to love Shane Black(i still have huge respect for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) but dammit some originality wouldn't hurt.

Some of you are way too keyed up, on one side of the matter or the other, regarding Cavill or general impressions of Man of Steel. If it continues to manifest in childish needling and barbs, you will be infracted and quite possibly removed. Post in civil and respectful manner or don't bother at all.

Also, drop the DC vs. Marvel trip.
