It didn't make a good impression, the views in regards to the film are overly mixed when it comes to fans. And a majority of reviewers hated it.

Most of those Critics let Superman 78 cloud there judgement . Plus i heard theres hatred for Synder.

We're not talking about reviewers that were clouded reviewing with the 70's movie and stupid nosense..
But I was refering in some polls that showed us that MOST of the people liked it...

So what is Henry doing now? I haven't seen any MFU pix in a while, is he done shooting?

Can you explain this one to me? What exactly is Snyder referring to?

I assume he is telling Cavill that when he is hit he shouldn't act like it hurts him. Instead, he should simply act as if something is bumping into him as Snyder is demonstrating.

Now, based on the fact that it shouldn't hurt him I don't think he is referring to any punches that Faroa or Nam-Ek throw. Judging by how Cavill is moving I think Zack is giving him direction for when the military fires their machine guns at them and how Henry should react to getting hit by the bullets.

Or something more simpler like the movie just wasn't as good as some try to pretend it is. Nothing diabolical going on in the background, if the film was a good to brilliant movie it would get the praise it deserved.

Or maybe the film is rated pretty well on fan rating systems like IMDB and maybe the 270 or so reviews on RT (55% of which actually liked MOS) don't represent the rest of the world and are written by actual humans that can be as biased as anyone else? Maybe the movie isn't as bad as some people pretend it is?

Just to let you know, I'm 15. There's a good amount of people who thought MOS wasn't special at school. It's had a very mixed reception. The GA liked it but it was a pretty lukewarm reaction.

The info is appreciated. But again, it is rated well on fan rating systems and some people say their group liked it. And I'm not surprised 15 year olds don't like it. I would imagine the audience for this movie is slightly older.

Some liked it, but most thought it was just okay.

Oh, whoops. Yeah, I was talking about my friends reactions.

Fair enough. Most people I know like it, although I don't know anyone younger than early 20's.

Even general fans think meh it's only extremists like you and that other poster that murders the English language that think this film is special. The general response to man of steel is it was horrible or it was ok. I know your going to attempt to rebuke what I have said but that doesn't change the general perception about the movie.

Not to patronise you and people of your age group but I thought this would have blown your minds, what with the boom bang boom of the movie.

I had a friend who told me there wasn't that much action. :woot:

I'm sure the action did blow my friends' minds. Some also said there was too much though.

Just to let you know, my friends and I love the Transformers movies.

Speaking on behalf of the 18-24 age range, that's pretty much the reaction from my friends too, I hyped it up to be easily as good as TDKT and would be near perfect, which may not have helped, but they were excited when we went to see TDKR and there was an MOS teaser and I said "these guys are doing Superman next".

Firstly, I am not an extremist. I have and will continue to agree that the movie has flaws. I understand that you haven't seen all my posts, so you may not know that, but it's true. I'm not trying to claim the movie is the best movie ever. My personal opinion is that it's good with lots of room for improvement.

I just don't like when people claim it to an abomination and what you say about the reception isn't even true. You're just saying things that suit your idea of the movie. At least use evidence. There are many people who say it's good to great. Obviously, some think it's horrible as well. Even on this board, do you really think there are only 2 of us that like it? There aren't even that many posting here at the moment, so how do you know? I could list others that like it, but they can speak for themselves, so I won't. To be honest, i think people who like it stay away from negativity. The way you speak like your opinion is fact is what bothers me, not that you didn't like the movie. If you just said "I don't like it" I would have nothing to rebuke.

Funny that you say extremists that murder the English language and yet, you don't seem to know "your" from "you're".

A few things:

1) a 'majority of reviewers' couldn't have hated it since it has over 50% on rotten tomatoes. That's just math.

2) the context of said reviews is important and having read a fair share of the negative ones, most complained primarily about the time if the film, not its film merits - this is a subjective matter and not really a good indication of a films objective quality. Furthermore most of these review actually have a lot of positive things and fairly high scores (7/10s) yet somehow ended up rotten.

3) people who love this movie have never claimed it to be a masterpiece or devoid of any fault, in fact they are widely acknowledged, but that doesn't stop them from enjoying the film and having this be one of their if not their favorite incarnations of superman.

As a film, IMO it's a pretty damn solid piece of sci-fi, with pacing issues and some weird dialog in places, but a great and refreshing look at something well loved that IMO clearly understands and respects the source. It reminds me of Prometheus in this way. A film I love a lot but is very divisive because it attempts to have a lot of thematic meaning which is not enough to impressive or enjoy for some who get bigger down in the lesser details.

Whether you like it or not is subjective and this is a huge part of your enjoyment of the film because it's neither an amazing or bad film objectively. It's mediocre in its execution, making the subjective enjoyment crucial to your view of it. Personally I find waaaay more positive in MoS than I do negatives and I love that it's finally a depiction I resonate in a human way more than in a mythological way like STM.

I don't think it's a secret that I don't like the movie and just to clear up something real quick. I am well aware that there are more than two people that like the movie I merely listed you and that other guys as examples because you were the two that came to mind. You ask for facts ok how about the fact that among professional critics and within its genre this is rated as a bad movie....fact (you will probably state how it's their opinion etc...the thing is if the film was critically praised you would be using that as proof of how this is a good movie). Second the drop of in regards to earnings suggest bad word of mouth, people saw this movie and told others what they would be getting themselves into. Trust me I love Superman and have loved him since I can remember, I tried to like this movie with everything I had but I can't because it's bad very bad and Superman deserves more.

That's fine. It's bad in your opinion. And you have no idea what i would say if critic reactions were different. And yes, I will say it's their opinion. Because it is. And despite this drop, it went on to make 650 million. But anyways...I don't think we're getting anywhere with this. To each his own.

Fair enough. Most people I know like it, although I don't know anyone younger than early 20's.
Yeah, many of my friends loved it and there are in range 16-25 year old..
That should be put in perspective cause the GA like it..
IMDB 7.5 give us a better perspective than the "great" reviews of RT wanting smth that was 30 years ago!!!
I wonder if theres too much hate from LORDOFHOUSEOFEL why he's coming to comment smth that he didn't like it? TROLLING is the answer :whatever:

I don't think he's trolling. He just has strong opinions.
