I grew up watching THE MAN FROM UNCLE.....so I'm looking forward to the new movie. From the trailers I've seen, I like the looks of it. I know some other old guys (like I am) who are also looking forward to it because they are fans of the original and this looks like a fun respectful retelling of the characters.
I've been meaning to watch the original.
Now that there is a new movie on the horizon, it makes me want to do so even more, as I like to do things like that. For example, just recently I watched the remake of "The Prisoner" alongside the original series.
Anyway, I'd find it quite odd for Guy Ritchie's movie to flop, especially post-"Rocknrolla" and "Sherlock Holmes".
I personally prefer his earlier work, but his most recent films have been much more commercially successful. Also, trailer's looking real good, everyone knows what to expect from Ritchie... I don't see the logic behind this movie flopping.
