I'm definitely on board with him being immortal or close to it. I don't know how it would get touched in the movies. Maybe a flash forward to Legion of Super-Heroes era, perhaps.
I'd also prefer if it were impossible for him to conceive children with Lois.
A lot of science fiction (Star Trek being the most notable offender) completely ignores the fact that - by definition - it is impossible for members of two separate species to produce fertile offspring.
Well considering they seem to be making this cinematic universe more episodic than standalone, any sufficiently powerful enemy could perhaps show/send Superman to a distant future (didn't Matthew Vaughan's Superman magnum opus trilogy have a part of the story dedicated to the end of the solar system?) in order to raise questions about his relationship with Lois. I'd also prefer if it were impossible for him to conceive children with Lois.
This x 5,000,000Never liked the idea that Superman was immortal. For a character who's commonly viewed as too powerful and/or godlike, that is just a step too far IMO. It puts Clark on a completely different plane from the rest of humanity in a way that even all his powers don't, because even with all those powers, Superman still has to deal with the reality of death (commonly illustrated via Jonathan Kent).
Having Kal-El be immortal would make him more "god" than "man." For me, if there's one thing all the best interpretations of Superman have had in common, it's that despite all his powers, Clark is fundamentally one of us. That is, he has the mentality of a human being, he identifies primarily with Earth, etc. I'm fine with Thor being immortal or near to it (since he is so much more directly compared to a god), but my Superman I prefer closer to humanity, other than the powers.
Let me put all my cards on the table though: Kingdom Come is one of my all-time favourite Superman stories and I prefer to imagine a universe where Clark does grow old (maybe at a slightly slower rate than humans like Bruce Wayne) and we can see how a more mature and world-weary Superman deals with things.
I know this notion scares some, but I do want him and Lois to have offspring. I don't need to see a kid...in fact I would prefer not too because that only reminds of me Superman Family. I just want the notion that he can reproduce with a human addressed. I also think for the films him being able to reproduce would be part of the reason Jor sent him to Earth in the first place. Jor believes they are compatible.I don't want him to, either. I admit this is mostly because of Superman Returns trauma, lol.

Sure...I can dig it. Again, I don't want Superman Family, or kids throwing pianos.I think that's a good idea, for a FINAL Superman/DC film.
I watched the features pretty extensively and I didn't hear that. Someone on the board said Synder was asked if Supes was a virgin and he said no. That's all I have heard about the sexuality of Superman.I prefer the adoption route anyway for Supes.
I believe it's it in one of the Blu ray/ DVD but the question of "if Clark can have a kid in this version?" is answered. Basically yes he can. I've not gone that far yet in the DVD so could someone answer that please as I'm not sure i've just heard that rumours?
LOL! I wonder who asked that question. No, it wasn't me.I watched the features pretty extensively and I didn't hear that. Someone on the board said Synder was asked if Supes was a virgin and he said no. That's all I have heard about the sexuality of Superman.
Wasn't me either...or I would have found about more details.LOL! I wonder who asked that question. No, it wasn't me.![]()
Robert is probably going to win. Im3 was the movie of the year despite a lot of people having "WTF" feelings about it.

Ah, I see. Well, just my opinion, IM3 was pretty good, but then I was one of the few people who also liked IM2.
Regardless, you're probably right that RDJ or maybe Brad Pitt will get the award, but no matter. It's good to see Henry get some recognition for the role. MOS had a few minor problems but Henry was fantastic. He's the first person I've seen really embody Superman on screen since Reeve.
