Women of DC is kicking serious ass

Amy Adams, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, Gal Gadot, Amber Heard, and Robin Wright,

That's it! You literally believe organs are magic! Bwahahaha!

You literally don't understanding how sight or hearing work so you think their operation changes or can change based on exposure to radiation... and then think that can have disparate and different effects that happen to remove powers throughout the entire body.
AHAHAHAHA!
Ahahahahahaha! Hahahaha! AHAHAHA!

And what you literally don't understand is.....you are discussing an unreal made up comic book science fiction alien and his abilities. Continue to make such condescending rude posts and you will be literally banned from our site.

I suppose I'm going by what Goyer said, mostly. I know he's out of the picture at this point but it would be a little strange to me if Superman had super breath now.

You bring up a good point with how they handled that in the Reeve films, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. I guess I wouldn't really complain if they gave him super breath now since technically in MOS no one said he didn't have the ability anyway.

Agreed, tbh although I do like super breath I wouldn't be fussed if they didn't do it in all honesty. I'd like to see it but its not any form of deal breaker.

So you'd be okay with Superman getting any of the crazy powers he had before? It's funny how people pick and choose what the like but don't apply the same rules.

Good science fiction have their own logic. It's not all suspension of disbelief.... but to each their own. For example, some people liked Ant-man and never questioned their explanations or wherever the plot took the movie.

Iunno. Depends on how it looks and is utilized. I don't care about logic. I care about how it functions in the story. If Supes uses his breath to freeze Doomsday or something, and like almost dies in the process because of some kinda movie science with his illegal alien lungs then that might be cool. If he just throws a cellophane S at Doomsday to temporarily disable him, but inexplicably never does it again then yeah...all that'd be really stupid.

At any rate, saying I like one power does not mean I like every power. I'm not sure why that's the conclusion you've come to.

I just saw Man from UNCLE, and Cavill was great in that. I loved how funny he was, and I could see him Bond too, or a Bond-inspired character. Which I guess he was playing in UNCLE anyway.

I just hope Snyder and WB just decide to stick with the basic powers and not go into the questionable ones. Just as a creative decision, like choosing to leave out the trunks. Supebreath? Ugh...if it has to happen I guess I can deal with it.

I would differentiate super breath with freeze breath as two different things. He could blow out fires without freeze breath.

Superbreath... fine. But freeze breath? He might as well have super fire breath, super phlegm breath, and super bad breath.

And people basing things on what's "cool" have to realize how subjective that is. Bet Schumacher thought his ideas were cool.

I mean, the thing is, regardless of whatever mechanics are at play, it's about what powers can successfully advance the plot. What powers can convincingly show up later that don't require the plot to take leaps in order to function. Heat vision shows up time and time again, used in ways that furthers the plot, like where Clark saves Lois in the Arctic or Zod levels a building that was actually a Wayne building, giving Bruce's arc an emotional starting point in BvS.

I'm not sure how super phlegm breath or super bad breath can push a Superman film forward in a way that doesn't undermine the character or the premise of the film itself. I'm not saying Supes should just be given any power though. His character works better with limitations. But I don't think freeze breath would betray that concept. And I think freeze breath can be used practically and in a way the benefits the story overall.

But I won't feel any kinda way if it never shows up either.

That's not really true.

What does heat vision have to do with plot? If he had heat breath it would be completely interchangeable with heat vision because they can function exactly the same. It's mostly creative decisions for action scenes that can be done in all sorts of ways. Not advancing or being relevant to the plot.

Any writer can come up with scenarios to use super phlegm breath or super bad breath the same way scenarios are made for freeze breath. The only difference is you've come to accept freeze breath because it's the status quo. It's a very superficial and subjective preference.

I already explained how the power played into the plot. Could another have taken its place? Sure. That doesn't negate the fact that the original power in question advanced the plot, again in ways that I've already covered. It's like saying Wade Wilson could have a disease other than cancer. Sure, but that doesn't make his having cancer and innately worthless plot point.

Again, it's not about just having a scenario. It's about having a scenario that doesn't undermine the character or the plot itself. Super phlegm and super bad breath would, as they're inherently slap stick, exhibited by the fact that you used them as mockery.

I accept freeze breath, because I can think of plot advancing scenarios where it can be used. It being the status quo is irrelevant to me and I honestly don't care if it ever even sees the light of day. Let's not pretend to understand each other's personal feelings on all this.

I hope Superman uses freeze breath to clear out all those fires :o

Is that an actual freeze frame from the trailer or a manip? because those abs look super fake there.

I wasn't a fan of the abs on the MoS suit but this looks like they've been actually painted on.

Thank you!!!! Finally someone else sees it. At least the man of steel suits abs looked like they were from his body and not just brushed onto his costume like the new one.

But these aren't brushed onto the costume, it's the same silver undersuit like in MOS, Wilkinson said it in more recent interview. They do look more fake though, for some reason.

Probably just the cinematography. I'm sure it'll look fine on the big screen. TBH I never even noticed it until now.

Agreed. We usually only notice these things in still images.

I have to remind myself to view these things in context. When I'm in my seat, staring at the giant screen, blood pumping from everything that's lead up to that moment, music blaring in the background...well I'm sure I'll forget all about fake abs.

...that's why you shouldn't look at freeze frames...:sly:

Details need to be exaggerated to see anything at high speed or in the distance and in the dark...

It would have no form or details in the shadows at all. That's why Batman's suit is and was gray and not ninja black. It "appears" black on film but if it were black no details would read on film... but you know that...

I think he will looking at the image above the page which is in the trailers looks to me like he's ready to unleash some freeze breath. Although he could just be getting charged up to rush at someone or something in flight.

Also talk about having abilities out of nowhere Superman didn't use freeze breath or heat vision in STM but he used both in Superman II.
Agreed, it's either hyping himself up to charge or a full on freeze breath moment. With all that heat vision being unleashed by Zodsday, it would be cool if he discovers his power out of desperation and freezes him/blows out the fires. :D

You aren't making logical sense. You're judging imaginary plots. How can you say what works for a plot and what doesn't when there is no actual movie to see. It's all up to the writers and the direction. Super phlegm isn't "inherently slapstick". Look at Toad in X-Men. These are the kinds of baseless judgments you're making solely on your imagination of what's possible, but you just aren't considering all the possibilities. Freeze breath is no less ridiculous and no more in service to any plot. Examples already exists that prove you wrong. Superman already had crazy powers in movies. The X-Men have all sorts of crazy powers.

He looks so angry in all these clips.

Imagine some skinny ginger trying to convince humanity you're the devil, and then that some *****ebagel dressed like a bat was resorting to torturing criminals and then threatening you when you disagree with him. Then, previously mentioned skinny ginger Frankensteins a world-destroying beastie from the body of a guy you reluctantly killed not too long ago and kidnaps your squeeze...at what point would your friendly face slip?
