BvS Henry Cavill IS Superman - - - - - - - Part 21

I don't get these wooden or flat complaints, how was he supposed to act in it? It was perfect serious Superman to me. Do people want him to be smiling in that scene aswell? (Joke if course :woot:)

He's very stern and just tells him how it is. People need to remember that he is also putting on a front in public and has to differentiate the two.

Lines were both fine for me. It's a bit much either way. The criticism seems a bit over the top given it's less than 30 seconds of dialog. But... It's also over the top to praise it to high heaven. Thing is... The criticism is what's more over the line right now than the praise. Henry sounded fine to me. Ben's voice is ok and he didn't seem petulant or something to my ears.

Probably the truest thing I've ever posted on the Hype.

Superman should be smiling in every frame of the movie. If not, that is #NotMySuperman :o

His voice took me by surprise the first time I saw the clip I think, he sounds a little different than in MoS, although that's probably because he never had a scene like this in MoS. I love his tone when he says the, "I'd like to speak to Lois Lane" line in MoS, I hope that comes back. It was the perfect Superman voice for me.

Yeah, saw it before. It's a little too over the top both ways but the negative reactions are... I mean, sorry, but I don't believe anyone when they honestly say they "laughed" at the clip for... Uh... Reasons? Yeah, everything in the clip was just totally botched so hard these people just have to let us know that they "LAUGHED" :whatever:. Sorry. Sounds like fanboy bovine excrement. Now, it's true, we have are blind follower types too, but at best their comments are just about being excited and an occasional presumptuous "it's gonna be the greatest XYZ" type post. With the negative reactions it's all 0-60 in a millisecond with prosaic and detailed absolutes for a film they have all seen less than 5 minutes of footage of at this point.

It's like there's no middle ground between "Zack Snyder made me climax 16 times in 45 seconds" and "That less-than-one-minute snippet was a JOKE! Cavill being stern and upright = WOODEN! Ben didn't give enough EMOTION while threateningly asking that alien if he bleeds!!! We know everything about context and this movie is a DISASTER!!!1!"

The extremity of the genre fan mentality as expressed over the Internet is all sorts of off putting to me. I mean, it's like with the Gal Gadot thread. Look... She ain't my type but I can't deny she's a good looking, world class beauty of a woman. But man... The praises in that thread that can border on just creepy. Acting like you know her soul or something... Just weird to me. But then the negative reactions to Gal were so common for so long and they were way over the top. It's like, we all need absolute certainty or we as genre fans can't do nuance or something.

Maybe it's the world just trying to balance it out haha

I just honestly feel like I'm watching Superman/Clark Kent and Batman/Bruce Wayne in everything I've seen. I don't look and think oh it's Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck.

Yeah one of my favourite moments from MOS

Yeah I agree with this, I hope its the greatest film ever and I am probably gonna love it regardless but right now we just don't know whether it will or not. What I think is a shame is the genuine negative reactions are getting bogged down by idiots who then turn it into something else and are been negative for the sake of it (this is just a generalisation btw not specially for any exact moments we've seen).

Superbreath... fine. But freeze breath? He might as well have super fire breath, super phlegm breath, and super bad breath.

LMAO Super what? This gives me images of Superman's spit being like bullets.

As for the abs from the suit, I always thought they were a part of the suit and they never looked like his own. I prefer the MOS suit for a variety of reasons buts the midsection looks good on both.

Just saw Man from U.N.C.L.E. Man that's a fun movie, very underrated imo. I thought Cavill owned it and made the movie what it was. He was very good in it. I'd love to see him as Bond now.

I'm waiting for it to come on Sky Movies

I have Kingsman DVRed but I'm waiting for Man From Uncle to show up either on Amazon Prime or as a freebie on satellite to watch them both for the first time as a double bill.

...I blame it on Nancy Grace...

shows like that have trained people to form opinions before we have seen or know anything...

Decide the facts before you know them. Jump to unfounded conclusions...

Is the glass half full, or half empty....

trick question...there is no glass...:sly:

Yeah, it really is dumb. I saw some people in the skepticism thread complaining that the clip is stupid because Batman thinks he can run Superman over. Ummm, no. If you watch the clip, it's pretty clear that Supes suddenly shows up and Batman can't avoid hitting him. It's crap like this that pisses me off. If you're feeling negative about the film, fine. But if you're not going to actually pay attention to what's right in front of you, then go find something else to obsess over.

I haven't seen Man From Uncle but I have watched clips. I would like to see a little of that performance seep into BvS if possible.

Why not? Have you seen the film. I haven't. Was it a bad performance? Or would it not fit this film at all?

Bad performance, no. The problem is Cavill sounded really off during certain scenes. I mostly blame the characterization and also the poor written dialogues.

The humorous exchange involving Bats and Supes toward the end of the last trailer is indeed very reminiscent of the banter between Cavill's Solo and Hammer's Kuryakin in TMfU.

I'd be alright with that, provided the material in BvS is better. I thought Cavill did really well in MFU but the writing and pacing sucked.

Okay. I understand.

Oh, I wasn't supporting Casval's take on TMfU. I personally don't have a problem w/ the aforementioned banter in said film, although my hope is that we don't see too much of that kind of thing in BvS.
