BvS Henry Cavill IS Superman - - - - - - - - Part 22

I massively agree with you and that is the point of the film. It's about his journey getting to that point. Infact David Goyer said as much on the Empire podcast back when MOS was released. They they did a spoiler podcast on the film which was followed by interviews with Zack and Goyer. If you (or anyone else) haven't listened to that I'd seek it out.

(Insert Batman Begins "I'll look into it" Bale and Oldman gif here)

I think that it is fine if one does not like Cavill as an actor or doesn't like him in the role and I think that it's fine if one doesn't like the film but Superman not constantly talking is not a real complaint. It wasn't a real complaint when people used it against Superman Returns and it wasn't a real complaint in 2013.

Trained actor, dedicated to develop his body for the role, looks like superman, commanding voice, professional at interviews.

What's wrong with people?:loco:

I don't know but I look forward to years of "wooden" Henry Cavill as Superman.

That all sounds great on paper, but real life tends to be a little more complicated.

Personally, I don't think MOS gave Cavill enough to work with. With any luck, DOJ will give him plenty of opportunities to flex his acting muscles.

Well, people talk **** about Bale's acting abilities just because they didn't like the bat voice...so...i wouldn't be surprised but still :loco:

All actors get **** from somebody, it's just the way things are. Can't please everyone.

It's well knowns comic book fans are a little more crazier though. CNN had 15 minutes news for Ben Affleck's casting for a reason.

Never seen such a thing before about a role.

I think some just enter here to create controversy, see the fire they create and then leave.

Ben Affleck as Batman was as controversial as Obama as becoming the president. :o

I still find it hilarious that, up until Affleck's casting was announced, everyone was deep throating the guy for his work on Argo, but then the second we found out he was Batman, it was all "THE GUY FROM DAREDEVIL AND GIGLI?!?"

I know it was all very weird. The Argo love was red hot and then suddenly he is a hack and Batman is Shakespeare? I love Batman but come on people.

Want to know the real deal?

No matter how great Cavill or the next actor of Superman are and how loyal are to canon (comics of course) it won't matter to some people, because they just want to see Reeve again and Donner Superman continuation disguised and have that on their minds.

Yeah as great as Reeve's performance was (Really good, I really love him), his Superman is nothing but another character interpretation. Same thing with CK. If those people don't see the clumsy Clark Kent (they won't, it's confirmed by Cavill) they will complain and say that wasn't Clark Kent no matter if in cannon he wasn't always like that or if it will claim more attention these times.

So yeah they will use any excuse, complain or critic to try to **** on his performance just because he isn't like they want to see (if they'd see it they will complain also: lack of originality, they just know to copy previous versions, blah blah blah) some just are for complain and I really DOUBT they fully enjoy a thing at all.

His Superman was a great INTERPRETATION of those times, and no matter if some people just can't deal with it, that version just won't click in these modern times.

We are for some realistic and canon inspired Superman now in the DCEU adjusted on these times. If they really want that version or a copycat of that, sorry but they are losing their time cause it won't be like that and character will still evolving as time is passing. If they can't move one they have 5 movies (SR was a homage of the Donnerverse) to watch the times they want.

/Rant finished

Oh god John you are going to lure in certain posters with that post. :funny:

I'll take 70% people who didn't like the portrayal of the character at their word when they say that they didn't want a rehashed characterization and performance from a beloved 70's movie.

Good lord, hairy or shaven, I don't even have a preference.

It's kind of neat that a whole new generation of young people will grow up with this new Superman, though. Imagine how many kids are going to be taken to the theater for BvS and have their minds blown, and that's it--fans for life. And they will then go back and watch MoS. MoS will make so much more sense when linked with BvS.

In general, many people will look at MoS differently over time by understanding it clearly as the prequel for BvS. A lot of people formed their reaction to MoS without understanding what it was setting out to accomplish. But I think BvS will make that much clearer. And the narrative on MoS will slowly change. We have seen that happen substantially in even the last year.

^ I think you have a point, and I think minus some exceptions we will have something similar going on. Or at least I hope so :funny:

That's why I'm talking to you... You are my bodyguard :word:

And yeah, agree. not all the people who didn't like and won't like it's attatched to the scenario I mentioned, that's why I said some. but I'd say the vast majority are, IMO of course. That's in all things (art,movies,sports,ect..) you can't please everyone and not everyone's gonna like the same thing. That's the beauty of things I suppose.

^ I will bodyguard you too, John-An... your post was spot on.

And ISS-- read your posts about WW shirts. I have no CBM shirts at all, and I'm thinking of making my first one a BvS WW shirt!

So not being as big as The Rock = not being big?
