Cavill's workout routine is aimed at allowing him to walk normally, like a boss. Watch the way he walks down the street in the Smallville fight. It's smooth and not like a body builder with stiff arms and locked elbows.

A little OT for this thread in particular, but I wonder if a further incentive for Ben Affleck to direct The Batman is that he'll have say over how much bulk Batman should have after this film, lol. I recall reading that now entering his mid forties he's not looking forward to the lifting regimen he used to bulk up so much for this film. But BvS's Batman definitely pays homage to Frank Miller's TDKR with that comic's insanely bulky Bats. In future films Ben will presumably be freer to create his own Batman.

I think Cavill's got the equation just right for bulk for Supes. Any more muscle-bound from what we've seen in the BvS trailers and stills would be too much, imho.

I think that's just talk. When the time comes, he'll get big again and again. All he has to get big, not ripped. Batsuit & regular suits cover flaws.

The key is to keep yourself in good shape, Cavill does that but adds modem bulk when he's getting ready for Superman.

Here for BvS Cavs put on ten more pounds, and looks a bit more solid than even in MOS. In JL he will be sharing the screen with Ben, Jason, Ray, Ezra and likely a GL to be named later. Now all those dudes are going to also be in mega shape I am sure. I am thinking Zack does want his Superman to be able to look as imposing as we expect him to, as fans, alongside those guys. There's more to imposing than size. It's also, like Jaxon was saying, the way a person a person walks. The way a person carries oneself. And attitude and dialogue help. I'm sure Supes will be fine, even if Cavill doesn't get any bigger.

It's gonna be harder for Jason Mamoa as the Aquaman costume doesn't fully cover his body. But since he's always quite big and in good shape that won't be a problem.
