I think Bats puts the JL together but Supes keeps it together. That's how I'd write it...and how I hope Snyder is writing it.

Just don't blow it by going with evil Supes, Snyder!! I think if he does that, Supes will end up okay.

If that's what he's really saying, then I still don't like it. Superman was at the center of controversy in BvS (and then died!). I don't see why it would be so boring for him to help form the league. There's plenty of room for tension between him and batman. I don't mind batman having a hand in creating it (and WW too, actually), but superman shouldn't be left out. In many stories, he's its leader.

Not boring, but they all would jump on board without hesitation. Just think of it this way, Batman tries, he struggles, he recruits just a few of them feeling defeated.

Superman comes back and the ones who doubted finally join him in the sun :awesome:

I'd out money on exactly that happening, Batman will assemble them but Superman will lead them.

Remember this is the final part in a trilogy according to Chris Terrio, I don't see Snyder betraying this quote from Jor El.

"You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."

I agreed. Batman can gather the team but let Superman lead. His return will need to be epic.

I guess it could work and I'm not calling doom on JL already. I have some worries about it though.

It's more the underlying attitude in those comments of his, rather than the specific case, that bothers me: "To make things more interesting, we have to minimize superman." No, you don't. He is a great character if you don't shy away from him and just let him be awesome. Especially when you have an actor that seems to love the character and excels even with minimal dialogue.

And the most important thing, the people forget is who will be the main villain in JL.
;)
Superman will play an important role in JL.

I'm not worried about JL1

I'm worrying about JL2 because of the Injustice storyline. If it's gonna happen I have the feeling it's gonna be in that movie, not JL1.

Even worse, if JL1 ends with Lois&Clark's wedding? I won't be able to handle what's coming next... :csad:

Anyway, that's too far down the road. I'll try to enjoy the good things in this movie for now.:woot:

Judging by that recent Snyder interview about Batman forming the JL, it sounds like Superman is going to be absent for a good bit of the film. I can't believe Tobias' goddamned predictions are coming true.

I hate Zack Snyder. Everyone who said he should have been kicked to the curb after MOS was right. He's running this thing into the ground.

I sort of agree with the notion that he hates Superman. We punked Superman so much in this movie to build up everyone's precious Batman.

I see it as there will definitely be atleast another Superman solo film. If JL does nothing but figuring out a way to bring him back, that means rules will change and sagas will end. Superman isn't permanently dead, guys. He will be back and that means a new arc begins. Another solo film is all but evident IMO. It just comes down to when.

That would probably be the best case scenario for Superman now.

Let's say that that JL tanks at the box office.

Snyder gets his mythological ass fired and replaced. JL gets postponed. They find a new guy to create another Superman film before JL while finding another guy to film and create JL.

Snyder can no longer be trusted with Superman.

you have worked out the whole JL movie, haven't you?

if superman really is minor in JL, we can just boycott the movie and not go to watch it.

why make yourself so vulnerable and depressing when things not even start, and when you know nothing about it???

the theme of BvS is indeed true. people fear of unknown... horribly...

pls go to watch BvS and enjoy again. shall we?

That's ironic because, if I remember correctly, you weren't a fan of BvS before it was released. Not that I'm trying to insult you or anything, but I just find it interesting on how differently your views of this has changed.

Honestly, the proof is in the wording. Snyder wants Batman to be the guy that sets up the JL. Look at how "The Force Awakens" went with Luke Skywalker's character. Even though he was the central focus of everyone's search, he was only revealed at the very end.

And Snyder just had to add in on how Superman may not come back the same either. And when you take the Knightmare visions into account, it seems pretty clear that he wants Superman to come back as a possessed villain.

At this point, we can only pray and hope that Snyder will do something "Sane" with these characters. The fact that we have to hope that Snyder will at least respect theses characters is just sad. We, as fans, deserve more.

Yeah, They're setting this up to be

JL1: The world (who has rekindled their love affair with Superman, fickle idiots:whatever:) is still mourning him, the villains rise, Batman is struggling to get the other guys to join forces. Superman finally coming back, emotional moments of his comeback, defeating the villain. Bats&Supes friendship, probably a wedding.

JL2: The league already formed, probably some tension & issues between Batman & Superman due to their alpha male status, the Injustice:GAO kind of storyline, Darkseid, etc etc.

That would be our best case scenarios, but unfortunately, Snyder has never done best case scenarios.

The fact that he had no qualms about
killing Superman and Jimmy Olsen, while having Martha Kent kidnapped in such a sickening way
pretty much proves that Snyder is a ****ing troll to the Superman pathos. He wants to make up his own mythology for Superman.

Sorry to see you so disillusioned. Was is mostly the superman parts you had issues with?

Not so much that i feel, i just think that like Frank Miller tends to do, we need to make Batman amazing by punking Superman so that Batman seems so much cooler. I hate this trend.

Yeah you could tell how much he loves Miller not only from his version of Batman, but by the fact he gave us a bit of a lousy Superman.

Not saying he hates superman but he was certainly cast aside in favour of his shiny new toy. That will be why the flying was so crap with hardly any practical effects, too much time and effort, rather just stick the little red and blue blur in on post production and make sure Batman's scenes were pristine

It just seems Snyder is more interested in Superman the concept than Superman the character.... I'm concerned he will continue to mess up Superman by playing around with the concept.

In some ways, Superman is truly the DC Version of Singer's Cyclops, with Batman being Singer's Wolverine.

Like Cyclops, who was also the natural canon leader in the comics, Superman will get pushed to the side in favor of Batman.

Hence, can you really blame people for not wanting to give Snyder another chance?

I'm surprised that he even managed to get the relationship between Lois and Clark right in this film. Pretty much the ONLY thing that he got right next to Wonder Woman and Batman's fighting style/outfit.

The fact that the best that we can do now is just hope that Snyder won't desecrate Superman's character in JL is just sad tbh.

It's exactly this. He's interested in exploring how others react to superman and the situations he creates, but not so much in exploring superman's character. It's worrisome for JL. He might use some gimmick, like evil or mind-controlled superman, in JL rather than developing him.

Yeah, pretty much. I hated how he felt like a background character. And even in the scenes he WAS in, it's mostly just him silently standing there while other people lecture him. And now people are saying Henry was awful and they should bring back Brandon Routh. Jesus Christ. I think I just need to give up and defect to Marvel for good.

It's not that bad...let's not exaggerate

It is pretty close. Did you see the fight and the climax? Superman just tossed around and beat up for 90% of it

They're wrong about Henry, IMO. He was as good as he could be and even if he wasn't...that doesn't make bland Routh any better for the character. As for the rest, I agree. Superman's portrayal was my main issue with the movie (although I did like some of what they did with him, so I'm not as disappointed as you are).
