Hickman's "Avengers"

I was going to call that cover utterly stupid until I saw Bobby. That's a pretty cool design. The rest suck though :down

So it is Octo-Spider. Was kind of hoping all the other titles would ignore that until that was resolved in SSM

It was said before (by either Alonso or Wacker I believe) that Avengers' first arc took place prior to the events of ASM #697 etc and that it would catch up to current Spidey events in the second arc

It's actually pretty awesome to see Ock interact with other characters as Spider-Man. I'm not reading Superior itself, but I've read a couple issues so far where Ock meets Peter's friends and fellow heroes, and the characters' interactions have been pretty entertaining. Daredevil's in particular was great.

Ock interacting with other heroes is probably my favorite part of the whole Superior story line. I just can't wait for the inevitable, "That's not Peter." moment.

I love Ock-Spidey! I love his interactions with the other characters and love the way some notice or not notice the changes. Avenging #16 with the X-Men was great! Wolverine gets owned....

Avengers #6 will probably be my last issue due to finances unless I decide to subscribe. Good to know it will feature Spidey in some form though! :D

In the first arc Bobby was "back", but in that latest preview he appears to have been Michael Jacksoned again...

Heh, Daredevil's reaction cracked me up. He kept straining his senses to see if Ock was an impostor, but since the body was still Peter's, he couldn't find any discrepancies. Except for the fact that 'Peter' was being a total jerk. :funny:

Eh, I actually didn't care for the DD/SpOck team up. It took me out of the story completely. And I was all into that Spidey/Sunspot/Cannonball scene until I realized that it was SpOck. Then I lost all interest. I don't have the slightest bit of interest in this whole Doc Ock direction. I've never liked the character and it's just disappointing whenver I see Spidey walking around acting like him.

Bah.

Ock trying to crack jokes after Daredevil asked "Where's the funny?" was hilarious.

Loved that issue. Really held up well. Ock cracking the wise after DD catches him out on it is brilliant

New Avengers #4 looks awesome.

Is that Star Brand dude that they're fighting in Avengers #8?

Probably. I can't think of too many others who could toss those particular characters around like ragdolls.

I really hate those half-mail arm things some artists draw Thor wearing. Other than that, though, both previews look good. Love the Magneto Statue of Liberty. :D

I wonder when New Avengers Beast is going to catch up to All New X-Men Beast?

Thats certainly not cat-face Beast. If anything it looks the most like pre-cat-face Beast

Well, cat-face Beast looked different in every appearance, ranging from cat to dog to ape again to goat. I like what Bendis said about that actually. If no two artists can make the look consistent then there's a problem with the design. I completely agree with that.

Either way, I'm kinda hoping All New X-Men catches up with the look of New Avengers. I'm not a fan of the new look in All NEw X-Men

Didn't the White Event give people superpowers in the New Universe? Are the unused spots on the Avengers "machine" roster going to be Star Brand and other New Universe characters?

At first I disliked this book, but it's slowly growing on me.
