Hitman: Absolution - Part 1

That reminds me of that creepy ass part where your target is some serial killer and when you get to his lair he has that "Put Your head on my shoulder" tune playing all creepily on a record player and there's all creepy pics all over the walls.

Man, that game was so awesome.

And now I've just found out about the HD collection coming on the 29th. Definitely picking it up... Can't wait to kill the Meat King's fat ass again in Contracts.

Haha yea thats one of my favorite hits in any of the games.

Iv never been big into figures or statues(outside of the ones that come with certain CE's of games) but i saw this and just had to buy it.

The whole "hawaii" thing in Absolution reminded me of that. Still not sure exactly what the hell was going on there.

That's a cool figure, man.

I didn't get to that level. I never got to beat Silent Assassin or Contracts so this will be my chance.

Yea i havent gone through SA or Contracts in quite some time. Deff ready to jump into those again.

I really liked Absolution and the levels were great, but I personally thought they weren't as fun to play through as the ones in the other games. Especially Blood Money.

Still fun, just not as fun. I'm hoping the next one gets that feel back again.

I think i can agree with that, even tho i think Absolution is the Hitman game IO has been trying to make all along. I dont think the levels were nearly as memorable in Absolution as they were in previous games, but i also think thats due to the story, which was far and away better than anything previous. Absolution only took place in the states, we didnt get to do any globe trotting which i think kinda hurt the aesthetics overall.

I wouldnt hold your breath on them going back to the same feel as the previous games tho. IO has already stated that they want the next developer(the dev working on Hitman 6) to bring something fresh to the table.

If it's something fresh, I just hope it has the globe trotting back with targets. I agree, the story here is way better than the previous games. Now if the next one has a great story with the fantastic environments, then that would be perfect.

Yea i agree. From the early promo art, it looks as though the next game will take place (at least partially) in Chicago or some similar city, but hopefully we do get to go to some more exotic locales. I mean the story is wide open for em.

I want Agent 47 to go to Hong Kong again, with Wei Shen and other Sleeping Dogs characters walking around in the background. Hong Kong's streets would look amazing with IO's crowd engine.

Hah that would be cool.

That's a really cool figure. If I was still in the action figure collecting business I'd be sure to snap that up.

Seeing that wrestling fellow dressed as 47, it occurs to me that it would be a very easy costume. I shave my head anyway, so going fully bald wouldn't be too much more effort. Slap a bar code on the back of my head and get a suit, done and done.

I finished Sniper Elite V2 today and with nothing new on the immediate horizon I decided to go back and screw around with Hitman. After a few levels of generally causing a mess I played Streets of Hope and managed to do the entire level only killing the three targets. I subdued two other people but left them alive in a closet and scored pretty high.

I feel I can never enjoy Hitman to the fullest. Because I can rarely go ballistic in the levels. Mostly because the highscore counter in the corner discourages such behavior. Also, 47 is that much of a pro, that he would rarely ever get into gun fights. Makes me feel like I'm playing wrong whenever that actually happens.

I don't like to run and gun in Hitman either, it just doesn't suit the game. If I'm just fooling around and things go sideways then I'll shoot it out, but I usually do that with the assumption I'm going to be killed any moment. It is fun to make use of the shotgun though, it's particularly brutal in Absolution.

Play in Pro mode and that little counter wont bother ya. I dont know tho, Rosewood is a place that i cant really see 47 just ghosting through. Thats one of those instances where hes coming through and hes coming through like a missile. He would deff avoid open conflict as its not a smart play, but in that situation i dont see him taking the clean way through. Iv yet to ghost that level, i just cant. Every time that level starts up and i see the dead bodies, i just have to axe the first thug i see.

How does this game compare to the Older Splinter Cell games? I still haven't gotten this yet, and Gamefly sent me the Splinter Cell HD Trilogy instead, which I still love because I'm a big fan of stealth games. I kinda feel like those games are a bit dated though, and feel limited in just what you can do.

I felt the same way about that level. Not only is it really difficult to sneak through, but story wise it makes total sense to 47 to just kick his way through that level.

This is a really damn good stealth game if u want it to be and playing the game in purist might actually be the purist stealth title offered. The main difference here compared to old SC titles is that 47 is far more capable in a fire fight than Fisher. If you botch something 47 can contain the situation before all hell breaks loose. Would deff reccomend to anyone whose a fan of stealth games

I was anal about score and stealth for my first play through, so when I get around to Purist I'm not gonna care at all if a mission goes sour and a shoot out results. My plan is to play Purist as though it was a real mission with no restarts unless I die or something.

And I agree with Pat about not ghosting Rosewood: those bastards didn't deserve mercy!

I think the next game should allow a gameplay feature, that lets you take on multiple attackers in close combat. Like you execute a quick jab to the throat, that makes one character topple while he tries to catch his breath, while you take care of the other guy. I always wanted to do a double takedown, like in Deus Ex, when I saw the first two guys near the Elevator.

That would, indeed, be awesome. They're kind of headed that way with the new silent takedown system.

Completely agree. Would only further show the incredible skill set 47 possesses.

I really liked Absolution, but I think it has quite a few noticeable flaws. The story is nonsense, even compared to previous games. I liked that they tried to provide a better narrative, but it wasn't written all that well and everybody over acts which I find detracts from the experience. Plus it didn't really come to a satisfying conclusion.

I also think the mission structure is quite uneven. There's still lots of fun to be had, but there were too many missions where I just didn't feel like it was much like the previous games. I would have preferred some contracts and maps that weren't tied to the linear story path.
