I know what you mean about it being poor character development but Barney has went through a lot of trouble to pull off a plan. This wouldn't be out of the question. I wouldn't mind him getting married but I don't want Barney's character neutered. As long as that doesn't happen I'm cool with him getting married. I'm thinking he maybe marries robin. My only doubt is thats a bit too easy and the wife is suppossed to be controversial according to tptb. I'm not sure robin is controversial.

I don't think Barney would be as nervous as we've seen him at the wedding if it was all a sham. As funny as that would be, it's not gonna happen.

I liked tonight's episode. It feels like it's been a while since we've had a flashbacking multi-layered episode, which is what set the show apart early on.

I would be happy if it was Robin. Her and Barney were good together and from the first time Barney showed interest in her it was obvious she was one of the few and maybe the only girl who can keep him in check and that he would break his rules for. He genuinely cares about her and would do anything for her. He's always been there for her to cheer her up, and lift her up. IDK after thinking about it I'm going to be disappointed if its anyone but her. Uncle Barney and Aunt Robin married makes sense and seems to be where its been leading from the first time Barney admitted feelings for her.

So we find out who barney's bride is at the end of this season or is it next season?

Fox Gives Pilot Order To Carter Bays/Craig Thomas Comedy With Becki Newton Starring

In what may be the last pilot order this season, Fox has given the green light to The Goodwin Games, a single-camera comedy from How I Met Your Mother co-creators/executive producers Carter Bays & Craig Thomas and fellow HIMYM executive producer Chris Harris. The project had been cast-contingent on securing Ugly Betty alumna Becki Newton as one of the leads. After lengthy negotiations, Newton, who fielded several other pilot offers, agreed to board the project, triggering a pilot order. The Goodwin Games, from 20th Century Fox TV where Bays, Thomas and Harris are under deals, revolves around three siblings, one played by Newton, who reconnect after the death of their father. The project extends Newton’s relationship with Bays, Thomas and Harris — she currently recurs on How I Met Your Mother. I hear that the HIMYM stint actually came out of an early exploratory meeting the actress had with Bays and Thomas about Goodwin Games. The project landed at Fox in September with a big put pilot commitment after a bidding war. Newton is with UTA, Management 360 and attorney Rick Jenow. Bays and Thomas are with UTA, Harris is with CAA.

I just watched a rerun of the episode where Barney has dinner at his dad's house. god, it's such a good episode. This show has a surprising amount of tear jerking episodes for a sitcom.

I hope not. Even if she does end up being the bride, she would only be the bride for one season before the show ends, right? Even then it would probably be nothing more than recurring. She could probably handle both at once.

Their contracts are up at the end of season 8 but they can always renegotiate

8 is when their contracts come up, but whos to say they wont resign? so its really up in the air on when it will end, they even discussed an idea for a spin off being told from the mothers point of view.
