How I Met Your Mother - Part 2

I'm watching an old episode of Jeopardy on my DVR, and all of the categories have to do with HIMYM. it's awesome.

Great episode. I'm loving Becki Newton on the show. She seems like a good fit with Barney. I think Ted, Barney, and Robin need a break from each other. The ending with Ted had me optimistic. I enjoy the episodes that center on him. Hope he moves into his house soon.

It'll be weird seeing the apartment without Ted living in it. He's been in there since the very beginning.

Yeah, that will be a major change for Ted. Of course now he will have multiple apartments.

good ol ted. finally moving into his dream home.

Good episode. Loved seeing Becki play Barney but I thought they were making him a little too gullible until he explained in the ep why he was looking to change.

Love this change for Ted. Usually on shows people change living spaces and IRS like whatevs but this was logical and felt right for the character.

I totally cracked up when Marshall locked Robin's door and she had that look of panic on her face. :funny:

Hope Ted can get fixing up the ole homestead now....and Robin can start flying around the world for work (with Patrice...I want to see more of this dynamic).

Not too thrilled about M & L moving back to the apartment, but gotta keep the main set in use I guess.

Barney...not really liking the Quinn relationship, but could be good for few weeks of laughs.

you think Ted sold the apartment to Marshall? because i think he and Lilly got the house for free.

Ted said he never took their name off the lease, meaning it was like they never moved out. And if it's an apartment, that means they're paying rent so Ted can't sell it.

an I am sure they'll make a great profit selling it, well since it was free I guess whatever they get will be profit

yes he rents
tho, you'd think after all those years him/and Marshall have been paying rent in that apartment he/they could of paid off a place by now

but I guess it all worked out in the end

I always wondered how Ted and Marshall could afford a place like that when they first moved in. An apartment that great in NYC must be pretty expensive and I think Marshall was just a law student when they first moved in.

just re-watching some old episodes that were on tonight (The Mermaid Theory, one was on)

an I was wondering now that Lily is pregnant, are we going to hear the story behind Ted wearing green dress

we should. Earlier this season they also showed us a quick glimpse of Barney in the ducky tie in what looked like Atlantic City again, which we haven't seen yet.

i wonder who was calling him? he looked shocked.

could it be that Quinn is pregnant? or Robin wants to get back together with him? One thing that I've noticed is that Barney's dad is missing, we could have used him after Robin jibbed him or now with Barney going after a stripper I would like to see him being somewhat supportive yet unsure that this is right move for Barney.

given that they since retired the ducky tie (an have never mentioned it again)... an they abandoned the Nora story line(which I think that scene was originally support to be part of)...

I don't think we'll ever actually hear that story
(if we do it would be in a flashback to some that happened back then, not some currently happening, since he was wear the ducky tie, that he is currently not longer wearing)

this scene has a big meaning IMO. i think they on purpose showed Barney in that scene.

i watched an old episode. its when Barney and Nora have their first date. its an interesting episode because Nora tells him that she wants to get married. and Barney lies that he would also like to get married and have 3 kids. maybe there is still hope .............

just because we haven't seen the ducky tie since then doesn't mean they won't bring it back. I think we went a full 2 seasons without seeing the yellow umbrella, but that's still obviously a big part of the story. A prolonged absence doesn't mean it's been abandoned by any means.

Given how much thought they put into wrapping up story lines like that, I would be horrifically surprised if they just dropped it.

so are we seeing the wedding this year or next?

I think the actual wedding will be saved for when we either meet the mother or the series ends. We will see the bride in the season finale though.

This has been my FAVORITE sitcom for the last few years, I will be sad to see it go. I've seen every episode a dozen times, and I fear even the syndicated re-runs will not be enough for me the way Seinfeld eps are.

When does the show wrap up, next season or season after?

We meet the mother in season 8, but the creators are discussing continuing the show past season 8. You can read about what they have in mind at the link.
