Superman Returns How many FEAR the theatrical trailer for "SR" will end up beeing a TOTAL LET-DOWN?!

may is ok. but mid may is to late. by that logic they could realese it in june. so they can finish even more of the movie and make even a better trailer.

Early to Mid May is perfectly fine for the release of the trailer, you're talking anywhere from 60-45 days before the release.

if this is such a smart move than why are other stuidos not doing it like that?
if you think about it is makes the most sense. to realese the trailer as late as possible.plus you have the effects finished.

i wonder why are other moviesrealeseing teh trailer sooner

Two words DB

ITS SUPERMAN!

last year it was teh batman. and it didnt made tons of money. we are now at the time where nothing like it was. things change. and people are different.

BB 2 will make more money than BB because people will see that it was better than they thought after seeing it on dvd. i think the same will be with SR. but SR didnt have the marketgin like BB.

we will see. i will like the movie. the queston is if others will.

What makes everybody else's marketing strategy the right way to go and WB's wrong? You can look at it either way.

Some of the most famous inventors, political leaders, and scientists have gone against popular opinion and have had more influence on society than anyone. Not that I am comparing the marketing strategy of a movie with the contributions of Einstein or Newton.

Also, each movie has to be marketed in a different way. You can't really compare Superman Returns and X-Men 3 because they are supehero movies, one is a sequel and the third part of the trilogy and the other is a semi-sequel to a movie that hasn't hit the screen in about twenty years.

You can't criticize the marketing strategy thus far because the fans, people on the Hype and Bluetights, have 10 times more information than th average movie goer. You are obviously exploding with anticipation so the marketing has worked on you. The trailer is being prepared for the general public, action, romance, and plot information.

TRUE,but people have had several batman movies in the last 10 to 15 yrs.we havent had a superman movie in 20 yrs.people are really anticipating this.

i am not criticizing.i am just asking questions. :)

w.b.s marketing strategy is good. great. i want this film to make as much dough as it can and ill say without a doubt that this is the right way to market it.

That critcizing comment wasn't really aimed at you, just a general comment, that their marketing campaign has created quite a buzz on the boards.

1. fans are anticipating this. general people dont know that this year is the year of superman. and the movie coems out in two months :o.
2. we had 4 superman movies. ;) just like with hbatman.

again i have nothing against the promotion. we will see if it was good after teh summer. what i dont get is tha tthe toys and everything else that has to do with the kids is getting realesed and has pics out. but from the movie nothing.
like i said it several times.it looks that this movie has so much complex effects that it needs a lot of time. which means that this movie will visual kill us. of course kill in a positive way :)

i thught it was like that. but i just had to make sure :)

yes we have had 4 superman movies, but not in the last 15 yrs.

All i'm saying is that, their is a whole new generation that has not saw superman on the big screen, and I think that will make a difference.IMO.

so superman 15 years and batman 10 years. where is the difference?

First batman was in 89'..I have cousins that saw it,last superman was in 86,they didnt see it because they were to young,we had batman all the way up to 97,with batman and robin.and last yr with BB.No superman since 86,I just think it will make a difference since it has been so long without one is all.

Superman may not be as relevant to the general public as other heroes but it may makes it's dough

Superman is massive..huge..no matter how we talk about it..it has a broader appeal than Batman.

I would argue the 5 Batman movies had more appeal cause they more recent. We dont know for sure if Superman still has the same appeal as Spidey, X-Men, Bats etc but we will see......

he is bigger than batman. but that doesnt mean that it will make more money.
i fear that general public wont like the action in SR.

precisely my point..batman is more recent..the world is ready for a new superman movie.

Although u haven't seen the action yet you fear that people wont like it. WOW thats amazing intuitive skills.
