if this is such a smart move than why are other stuidos not doing it like that?Showtime029 said:Early to Mid May is perfectly fine for the release of the trailer, you're talking anywhere from 60-45 days before the release.

if you think about it is makes the most sense. to realese the trailer as late as possible.plus you have the effects finished.

BB 2 will make more money than BB because people will see that it was better than they thought after seeing it on dvd. i think the same will be with SR. but SR didnt have the marketgin like BB.
we will see. i will like the movie. the queston is if others will.
i am not criticizing.i am just asking questions.Showtime029 said:What makes everybody else's marketing strategy the right way to go and WB's wrong? You can look at it either way.
Some of the most famous inventors, political leaders, and scientists have gone against popular opinion and have had more influence on society than anyone. Not that I am comparing the marketing strategy of a movie with the contributions of Einstein or Newton.
Also, each movie has to be marketed in a different way. You can't really compare Superman Returns and X-Men 3 because they are supehero movies, one is a sequel and the third part of the trilogy and the other is a semi-sequel to a movie that hasn't hit the screen in about twenty years.
You can't criticize the marketing strategy thus far because the fans, people on the Hype and Bluetights, have 10 times more information than th average movie goer. You are obviously exploding with anticipation so the marketing has worked on you. The trailer is being prepared for the general public, action, romance, and plot information.

i thught it was like that. but i just had to make sureShowtime029 said:That critcizing comment wasn't really aimed at you, just a general comment, that their marketing campaign has created quite a buzz on the boards.
he is bigger than batman. but that doesnt mean that it will make more money.ROBOCOP CPU001 said:Superman is massive..huge..no matter how we talk about it..it has a broader appeal than Batman.
Super_Ludacris said:I would argue the 5 Batman movies had more appeal cause they more recent. We dont know for sure if Superman still has the same appeal as Spidey, X-Men, Bats etc but we will see......
