Lol
see? thats why they choose different approaches;-)
,after all these years on these boards, im glad they didnt. (except from a few tiny ideas and aproaches)...nah...The fact that they chose for Harry to be the first Goblin really shows that Sony isn't letting the fans run the movie for them.
I think it's hilarious that freaking Chris Nolan gave us a movie where one of the main villains wears a burlap sack over his face, but we can't get a goblin mask (opinions on Dafoe mask nonwithstanding)
I have to respectfully disagree with your assessment RepulsorB...Norman & Harry are father & son. They share the same genetic make up, as would be expected from one's offspring. We see in the trailer, they both seem to have a very similar effect from whatever it is infecting them...obviously, Norman is in a far more advance state or later stage, I should say. So, I don't expect much different in appearance, and they both seem to be displaying, not only similar green splotches on the skin; but also, changes in their iris.
I'm just saying....
Even if Norman's transformation is very similar to Harry, HE could end up wearing a mask and having a different costume.
Remember, its not just a matter of "go with mask." Its also a matter of making it look both good, and credible. In the comics, the Green Goblin doesn't look like he has a mask, he looks like that is his face. In a live action movie, that's basically impossible, as masks don't work like that. So you either:
harry takes an imperfected serum, whereas norman does not, is my thinking.
@ bold: you don't say?
Not really. Movies have often employed "unrealistic" masks that look just like a real face. (The Mission Impossible movies for examples.)
What these masks really are made of is usually silicone prosthetics, but they're presented as being extremely life-like masks. And even then, a full silicone mask can be very lifelike.
Either way, they easily could have presented a Goblin wearing a mask that looked perfectly lifelike and explained it away as an advanced mask (like MI) but just applied prosthetic to the actor.
The fact that they chose for Harry to be the first Goblin really shows that Sony isn't letting the fans run the movie for them.
Also...Hype101:
Posters see Harry as a Goblin first. Posters create scenarios that Norman will become a better Goblin and kill Gwen. Scenario doesn't pan out. Posters think this was the best decision ever by the film makers.
Is that supposed to instill confidence in people?
You're missing the point...I'm saying because of their inherent genetics, one expect similar effect, like heart disease, breast cancer, or diabetes that runs in a family, compared to if Roderick Kingsley to the serum, one would expect some differences in effects.

Because you never have a point??? Sony makes Harry a dumb looking Goblin that doesn't look like a Goblin where spoilers indicate that he does something major and you make a statement that you are glad that Sony isn't listening to the fans? I missed the point? You really keep missing the point, don't you?
i never said norman will kill gwen, just that i am predicting (based on inconclusive evidence, sure) that norman will become green goblin in a future film and look more like his 616 counterpart.
gwen can be killed by harry, and as long as it is executed well, i'm fine with it.
harry goblin's look is hardly ideal, but i honestly believe that he is a stepping stone to norman as GG. has nothing to do with being a fanboy (i don't even like tasm1)

Just curious, if you hate this franchise so much, why are you here? Do you really have nothing better to do? Perhaps arguing gives you an adrenaline rush.
I never said you ever said anything.
