The Dark Knight Rises Hugo Strange

Hugo Strange is not a bad villain. I just can't see Nolan using him.

I think combining Hugo Strange and The Riddler would be a good combination.

If Millar isnt lying, I can see Hugo being a option. "Strange Apparitions" is held in pretty high regard for fans who read the book back in the day.

Hugo Strange would be cool, because he was one of the first real super-villain Batman has faced, although it must be said that there aren't really many stories that feature himm especially considering his 70 years history. I think stuff like "monster men", "fog machines" and "ghost projections" are also out of the question for Nolan's movie. So I would say "no" to being the main enemy.

To give the thread a BUMP (since the Black Mask thread got bumped and The Riddler one will now likely fade into obscurity), perhaps we should now be looking at Hugo Strange as a serious contender for the role of main villain, and the role Tom Hardy could be playing.

So where did rumor begin about Hugo being in TDKR?

Well, we did have the hints from Millar about them using a character from his childhood. People figured out that Black Mask came a little too late in the 80s, but the 'Strange Apparitions' arc with Hugo Strange fit the timeline.

I really think we're getting either Hugo Strange or Black Mask or both to be honest!

Millar's not in the TDKR circle of trust.

Hugo Strange is such a bizarre name. Is it one of those bad puns writers used to be fond of? Like Pam Isley or Victor Fries?
Monster Men aside, he seems like an interesting character, but the name makes me wonder if he's just one of those gimmick villains who has a name that matches his whole persona.

Oh, and Gianakin, that guy is Brian Cranston. Amazing actor. Watch Breaking Bad and you'll see what I mean.

Frankly, yes. :funny:

But I think it ties less into his 'villain persona' than Fries.

S**t, he's that doctor from Seinfeld! Wow, good choice:up:

Don't ignore this. Watch it. And see why Cranston is such a great choice.

He's got a pretty good Batman voice! :funny: Considering Strange's obsession with becoming Batman, that works out...

Good scene.

I'm glad so many of you approve of the Bryan Cranston idea. Though it seems Tom Hardy could be playing him now, and he's good too. :)
