Indeed. Strange's stalker-like obsession with Batman perhaps makes him one of the few villains who can provide Hardy with a lot to work with.
Plus, Strange has a lot of untapped potential. It's like working with new clay. He doesn't have to outdo Nicholson or redeem the character from Tommy Lee Jones. He can take it wherever he wants.
And, perhaps the best thing, is that Strange is not a mobster. He's a freak, pure and simple. A weirdo who has a hard-on for figuring out Batman's deepest secrets. And I find that thought incredibly disturbing.
