The Dark Knight Humor in TDK

you know what would make alfred's one liners funnier? a mustache, like he has in the comics

yeah but a mustache that sort of impedes his speech because it would be hilarious if he were like constantly wrestling with his mustache to get his words out and then all his jokes were ruined.

Whoa! Nice one! :woot:

I actually like him the way he is, not sure if a mustache would really change things drastically. But you can never determine the power of the 'stache..

So moustache without beard = kiddy fiddler. Got it.

Some nice, light humor would be good. Sorda like what they had in BB

UPDATE:

After trailer three, we've seen quite a few one-liners from the film (other than Joker's):

1. Harvey: "Any psychotic ex-boyfriends I should be worried about?"
Alfred: "Oh, you have NO idea!"

2. Alfred: "Will you be wanting the bat-pod, sir?"
Bruce: "In the middle of the day, Alfred? Not very subtle"
Alfred: "The Lamborghini then... much more subtle"

3. Harvey: (Looks surprised)
Gordon: "He does that"

4. Bruce: "I need a new suit"
Fox: "Three buttons is a little 90s, Mr. Wayne"

After all that, it seems that the Nolan brothers have maintained the same kind of humor from the first film and seemingly the same amount.

This is alright by me, except for the Lamborghini joke which sounds too much like Batman Forever-

Alfred: "Can I persuade you to take a sandwich with you, sir?"
Bruce: "I'll get drive-thru"

What do you guys think?

well I mean come one, batman has always had a bit of campy/cheesy humor, so this is no surprise to me or should it be to any batfans. I mean it wouldn't be the same without it. I would like to see, as others have said, more dark humor from the joker though.

I think the line "any psichotic....you have no idea" it's edited.
they extrapolated from the speech and just put togheter.

I found all those to be pretty good instances of humor.
And i am very glad that TDK will have moments like these.

The humor seems more wry to me this time around.

As long as they don't have anything like that utterly random "Nice ride!" in BB, it's all good. :oldrazz:

For me BB had just the right amount of humour in it, remember lets keep it serious people! Too many of the recent superhero movies have gone overboard with the comedy, thats one of the reasons why the flop.

It's too hard to call what's a definite one-liner or not in the movie, especially based on the trailers and tv spots where edits and cuts have to be made out of the context of the entire scene.

I don't know what it is, but Michael Caine with a moustache doesn't sit right with me. He looks like a pedophile.

Okay, maybe not a pedophile...but someone who, if touched, would feel greasy.
:wow:

All right, I'm going to stop talking now.

Shame on you guys for never seeing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

I don't like a lot of Alfreds jokes that we've seen so far. They're so forced. Maybe it's the delivery.
