Yeah, it's very important indeed....and not in a good way. Let's take the 50+ years of history that tells about Reed, Johnny, Ben, and SUE travelling off on an adventure together and being changed into super powered superheroes....and change it into a story of the "boy's club" travelling off together on an adventure and leaving the girl behind to monitor them....and then as an after thought she gets caught in a last second explosion that gives her powers too. But.....lets make darn sure that Doom, who was never on the adventure in the history of the comics gets to be there and be the main focus of the transformation stuff going on.
Too bad she wasn't important enough to go along with the others on the initial trip....or that it wasn't important enough to the writers and producers to keep the basic storyline in tact.
