The Dark Knight Rises Ideas For Incorporating Characters Into the Nolanverse

I never read it that way.

And even if his initial reaction was that of surprise, he still get's up and then closes his eyes in acceptance. In fact, they purposely changed that part of the script. Originally, they had Ras screaming as he went out, but they changed it on purpose to show him calmly accepting his fate.

Thank god or whoever for that!!

The scene where it shows him close his eyes accepting his fate fits the character really well...Lazarus pit or not.

Yeah, agreed. Thank god they changed that!

I think there will be a lot of emphasis on Bruce's guilt in the third one. The guilt over not saving the love of his life and Harvey. Which will maybe bring those feelings back of guilt over his parents death.
Indeed. I mean by the third film Bruce will have lost pretty much everything. Rachel's gone, Harvey became corrupted and eventually died, his relationship with Gordon has been severed, and Batman has become an enemy to the people he's trying to help. What does he have to hold on to?

I think riddler is Not as big a threat as most of the villains. I think if we saw black mask as the new head of the mob, with a hitman(deadshot), having two face not die looks like the best option(have him have two personalities, and have gordan and batman try to cover up his tracks), joker should have a cameo(possibly one of the actors from the imaginarium of doc blahbablah could do it).
Scarecrow could be in it, and he could have a rather large Body guard(killer croc), when people get scare juice bam, scarey crocodile.

Just imagine if Michael Caine dies too. And all the stupid fanboys parade around screaming for Alfred to be retired just like The Joker. Then we'll have no Alfred either.

Then Batman will be double-****ed.

:awesome:

I think if he would have said something about justice being balanced and him having his revenge would have worked,
or even a smile would have worked(for ras that is). Ra's put himself in that position, I like to think that Bruce thinks he could have escaped.

Stay on topic please. I only takes one troll post to screw up a great thread.

That is actually the character development i want for Bruce in part 3, losing everything that is important to him will make him go in a downward spiral of violence, depression, and obsession which will make him the gritty and psychopath Batman Frank Miller introduced in TDKR. But of course, i want my Batman to be dark and gritty and mysterious, but heroic and relatable as well, so what will bring him into this state of mind and personality again is through LOVE. Love that will be provided to him by Selina Kyle and maybe Leslie Thompkins (who i want to be romantically involved with Alfred, cause i get sad sometimes when i think of Alfred's life). The love that will be provided to him by these new characters will make him find the true purpose of being Batman again, and of course he will be known as Gotham's protector as the movie ends. The redemption at the end will be very dramatic and emotional because of the the downward spiral (mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually) experienced by Bruce in the beginning of the film.

Just an idea going off what you said. I think Leslie Thompkins could be introduced as someone to treat a serious wound of Batman's that even Alfred is not capable of taking care of. that way she would find out his identity and the beginning of the relationship would start.

No he means batman, in every interpretation of batman he still has his humanity, and since nolans version is really long halloweeny, I think it would be fitting if he became a little bit more calm and collected, he needs to be shown as extremely smart(I believe nolans batman is, but his emotions cloud his judgment).

Batman is still a man, I think in the next one he should become a legend.

I think if they brought Harvey back, that would clear batmans name.

Very good suggestion, I agree. I think that could be explored in-depth if the third film is made to be a straight detective story, and I think it should be.

Riddler could definately amp the detective movie(a bit of se7en, but not just dead bodies), mixed with a action movie(die hard 1 style), add a little drama(tdk style).

I personally think batman should renew his oath(maybe show a scene at his parents grave), show some people capitalizing on the leaderless mob and chaos that joker created.

I'm not gonna lie, two face could capitalize on all of this.

If he was put in a coma(by the fall).
The movie could start with some EMS running over and touching his neck, then saying he's alive. It could then show gordans speech and say he is in critical condition, and they are putting together the Harvey dent fund raiser to help victims of the jokers rampage.
The joker stashed away enough money to pay for the 3 best lawyers in Gotham.

I know, that's exactly why I added etc. (since I named only three traditional characterizations of Batman and when actually, there are more).

Bruce is still a rookie Batman in the first movies as his only been in the cape and cowl for a year. He was definetly learning from his mistakes in BB & TDK.

He thought he would hang up his cape and settle down with rachel, he thought Harvey would take over his role within the law but after the events of the dark knight Bruce realises his role of batman may never end and that the city needs Batman.

I hope in the next film we see Batman refocused on his mission with the Batcave and Wayne manor complete. A new Batmobile built from scratch so it won't be recognised. An improved suit, more new supporting cast Leslie Thompkins ect and the continued evolution of Gothams criminal underworld.

Jason Bard. I'm obsessed, I know.

Have something that needs investigating, but Batman can't afford to look into it by himself, too recognizable out of costume (and in costume) to do so, so he hires Bard to do it for him.

I hope they take some thing away from millers batman, some of the brutality, I think Nolan is adding it(the roof drop batman conducted), he should break arms an legs, make them remember him. He also needs to take away some of millers batmans personality. He does not share everything with everyone, he is more of a loner.

Keep some of his humanity, he confines in Alfred.

Riddler would be ideal for a detective/noir story, with Catwoman as the femme fatale.

...But Two-Face is dead. There's no getting around that.

A mother figure to Bruce in the form of Leslie.

Yep! I would love to see her character added to the film. She doesn't need to have a heavy set of scenes either....just a handful of emotionally sad and fun powerful scenes with Bruce and Alfred.

Helen Mirren as Dr Thompkins would be great casting and I can imagine the chemistry between her and Caine would be great to see!

Agreed! I want to see a more pissed off Batman....where he is breaks more arms, legs, noses, kneecaps and here the criminals scream.

It would be good to see that more in this next film.
