If it does happen, I think they should stick with eventually doing Brave and The Bold, but part ways with Andy.

Maybe get someone who has worked with Reeves a lot before to write/direct like Drew Goddard, I feel like that guy has been waiting for his true big break for years

You could also do a time jump after Reeves is done with his trilogy/saga. And at the pace these movies are going, Pattinson will definitely be old enough to play a Batman in his prime

Seems like the least interesting option to me.

Like I said, if they want Pattinson, they should commit to his take and respect the character's natural progression in the movies. Let's see him grow and branch out of his little hellhole that is Gotham City and let us take that journey with him.

Otherwise, don't bother. Just introduce a separate Batman with a different status quo.

I think you let Reeves complete his vision and go from there though. I think he’s garnered enough goodwill to get that much.

I, for one, don't think they actually ARE insisting on bringing in Pattinson.

I think the Batman trilogy will end up being a soft canon prequel (logic of timelines be damned), with some of the actors (maybe Pattinson, maybe not) carrying over if those actors/interpretations have more life in them (like Waller/Peacemaker/Blue Beetle carrying over from the DCEU)

If it’s not Pattinson, I think we’ll get a dcu bat dad cast soon but mostly in animation (I think Brave and the Bold if it happens will end up being a Spider-Verse type animation which is perhaps the best way to do a 10 year old ninja) and in minor roles in the live action bat world movies (Nightwing, Clayface, Teen Titans etc), but if it’s someone new I don’t think you’ll see this new Bruce headlining live action films nor see his face paraded around late night talk shows etc until after the Batman trilogy.

Hugo is the one that came to my mind after seeing that quote. From what I've seen, he hasn't really gotten that much speculation online compared to some of the others.

The most popular theories that I have come across are court of owls (mostly because people seem to want them versus it being a legitimate rumour), clayface (only because the trades made mention of this, hush because of the reference in the Batman, two face/ Harvey Dent in some capacity and Mr. Freeze (... Because the winter setting? Lol).

To me, I would be surprised with poison ivy. Second would be Mr. Freeze because I've seen more people rule him out for being too fantastical. Depends on the story, he was talking about things being more grey than black and white so you have to see which villains fit that mold.

I get that fans will speculate on every inflection of Reeves’ or Gunn’s voice, but they definitely do not need to clarify anything on DCU Batman any time soon. Neither project is coming out for years. Part II is actually gonna shoot this year. BatB is a ways off. They’ll be okay.

DCU Batman will be a different actor though. Reeves’ short blurb on it felt like a safe answer that doesn’t definitively say anything other then he’s more focused on his side of things then any other and Gunn and Safran are happy with that.

Regarding the concern about skipping to Damien for the DCU Batman, weren't there rumors (or speculation anyway) that Reeves may potentially introduce Dick in his movies? If so, it's possible his movies will establish Dick as Robin so that by the time we get to DCU Batman, time will pass enough that it's not that weird for some to use Damien because Dick was already Robin. And supposedly there's a Teen Titans movie in development, so Dick may even be Nightwing by that point.

Either way, I feel this is a bit moot, especially since we don't know if they will end up keeping their plans to use Damien. And I know everyone wants to be paticular about how they want to adapt things, but as we're seeing with Superman and Lanterns they're not starting on page one for everyone. The DCU they are introducing is already a fully established world of superheroes. They're not going to slowy build up to things by first using Dick, then Jason, then Tim, Stephanie then finally Damien. Not mention they're not going to tell things the same way or the same order the comics did either.

As of Court of Owls believer, I want to qualify that with I wouldn't consider them "the villain" in the same sense that I don't consider Falcone "the villain" of The Batman. The question of who takes the spot of the marquee rogues gallery villain is a separate one from what is the underlying plot about corruption in Gotham that the movie will be unraveling IMO.

At this point so many rumors have been thrown at the wall and someone has likely guessed at least partially correct.
