Matt Reeves tweeted for his birthday and included 3 bat emoji’s. Small small small gesture but it seems we’re safe for now.

He wouldn’t invoke Batman related things if he knew he was gonna walk or have his project shelved soon

Besides the rest of the noise related to this project, if superman comes out and we don't hear anything a month or two after release, then I'd begin to worry.

Just counting a six month pre production, end of July this year gets you to a February start date and we know this movie needs to start filming by summer 2026 to meet that October 2027 release date.

I still think we don't hear any news until after superman releases, but at the same time, if it's actually filming in January 2026 it's going to be tough to keep that information a secret.

I do think that this is ultimately a bad idea, though. The general audience is not that smart, when it comes to this stuff. You will still run into people who think Batman is Marvel or ask why Spider-Man can't be in a Superman film.

They don't have the bandwidth to grasp "Well, THIS is an Elseworlds Batman and THIS is a DCU Batman...."

It's such a simple concept to us, but to Joe Public? It's too complicated and a lot of them tune out.

I think they run the risk of cannibalizing their own audience.

It being a bad idea is completely irrelevant to whether or not they do it.

I think GA sees marketing then buys a ticket if it appeals to them, and that usually hits the most people like a month or 2 out from release.

Or you can actually just address it and say this is this and that is that like they have been. It's not complicated at all. It might turn people off, but so can anything about any movie. I can't imagine too many people seeing a trailer for BatB, liking it, but opting out solely bc Pattinson also has a job playing the character.

I think its a bold idea and the projects on paper are already vastly different.

It’s a shame but this whole thing is a ****ing mess. Also missing the entirety of 2025 after reeves himself said they’re shooting this year? This project is just not happening.

It’s widely clear he just can’t make a movie for months on end being away from family anytime in the next few years. Even before this whole fiasco he’s spoken openly about how hard it is to make a movie and how he “doesn’t even get to have dinner with his family for a year”

I'd say by August if it isn't happening it isn't going to. Not with Reeves anyway.

Completely agree. I don't know if I want this to move forward if Reeves isn't helming it.
