Incredible Hulk director has been picked!

Most directors are good enough to give good storytelling through film,So I'm not so much worried about who the director is,I'm more worried about who's writing the script.Since the guy wrote X2 and X3...well, you know thier will be alot of action in it,but a Batman Begins or Spider-Man 2 it will not be.

I know what your saying and i agree with some of it, but i wouldnt call this guy a safe choice. He never had a hit movie in his life and has only directed 4 or 5 movies. If anything they are taking a risk IMO.
If they could get anyone more experienced/sucessful then I am sure they would have. If its a risk then its a risk they had to take. Am reading a bit on IMDB about how Chow Yuen directed all the action in the original Transporter and that this guy was only brought in to direct the romantic scenes.

Whoa! Good catch. Note the reaction of "half vader" later in the talkback. I guess he will be screaming "Noooooooooo!" a la Episode III right about now.

Well thats not a good sign, another is that he doesnt have much experience with CGI.

Ugh!,this director choice signals their intent IMO:(

Well, I still kind of blame this on Ang Lee for delivering a terribly paced, narratively incoherent movie with a character you couldn´t give a flying **** to... Now here´s the result, we get your typical run-of-the-mill action director to do something Michael Bay-esque... The writer, I´m not so angry, Zak Penn worked on X2, I dunno how much of X3 is his take, and there´s actually much in that movie that I like, they should have had more time to get it right.

Yep a director with a lot of time on his hands. This is pretty...disappointing. Transporter 2 was a big piece of ****.

Well who knows this character might be just right for this guy. Right now it doesn't look to great but let's see what this guy has in mind.

Oh God, Zak Penn is writing this? :(

yeah that has me a little worried too.

but Letterier worked on Unleashed, The Transporter films, The Messenger (Joan of Arc) and Aliens4. pretty impressive line up.

cant wait! :hulk:

Well he directed Unleashed and the Transporter films. He was only a production assistant for The Messenger and Alien Resurrection.

Yeah I thought that too at first.

Ive never heard having anything to do with Alien 4 used as a positive before

Well I'm not particularly confident about this appointment, i will wait and see what this guy has to say before i get overly worried. BUT, i have a feeling we are getting a 90 minute action movie for this sequel.

That's my worry and i hope it's unfounded, more Hulk action im all for but i want it balanced with Bruce's journey and character devlopment

Its been my worry since 2003, i hope i am wrong though.

Chug Chug Chug...the wheels are turning

Glad to see a director named and working on the project. I'd like to see bana back, and WE ALL knew this one would be an action film. I loved Hulk, in fact, I watched it 2 weeks ago with my kid, but the movie wasn't an action film. Hulk 2 will be action packed and a summer movie will all the trimmings, and there's nothing wrong with that. A decent script with decent dialogue is cool, but I'm not nito getting hyped about making "Chariots of fire" hulk...sorry...not interested at all. I wanna see Hulk and Abomination devastate city blocks and see some ballistic stuff.

I thought the action sequences in the Transporter films where great, and I've been hoping that Marvel could get Jason Staham a project (deadpool...deathlok), as the guy was really fluid in the action sequences, unlike ole Ben in DD...who looked about as stiff as Al Gore! An Unleashed...well it was Jet Li, so there no much credit you can give to him there.

The new Director speaks!

'Stéphane ARGENTIN' from EcranLarge.com tells us they already got a chance to speak to The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier after last night's announcement:

We were able to get in touch with director Louis Leterrier this morning regarding The Incredible Hulk to ask him a few precisions about the project. He told us that he was previously in relation with Marvel to direct Iron-Man before the project finally went to Jon Favreau. Seeing Leterrier's passion for Marvel comics, Avi Arad told him about this new Hulk and it took Louis less than half an hour to get convinced by the new orientation of the movie and agree to direct.

"We won't be spending times presenting the characters, which is unfortunately pretty much unavoidable as far as number ones are concerned. Someway like Spider-Man 2, Marvel wants this Hulk to be the one fans would really want to see on the big screen. I'm not badmouthing Ang Lee's movie which has its supporters but I think the tone was overall a little bit too serious. As far as the casting is concerned, we don't know yet if Eric Bana will be onboard and regarding Hulk, I can already tell you that I don't intend to use as much 3D as the first movie did. As for the budget, it will be over 100 millions".

The film am doomed. :doom: :doom: :doom: :doom:
[Ions is gutted]:(

This director sounds like he doesnt have a clue!! He calls cgi 3D and says there will be little characterisation. Oh my god, why marvel, i waited 3 years for this ****!!!

come on ions, have a little faith. This guy can direct, he showed that with Unleashed and Transporter 2. Have faith my friend.
