Who the hell is clamoring for an Independence Day sequel in the first place?

Also, no way in hell is Liam Hemsworth going to fill the void of Will Smith. Liam has the charisma of a plank of wood.

The Hemsworth brothers both got the looks, but only one got the charisma.

You haven't seen many Roland Emmerich movies if you expect him to delve that deep.

Well obviously there'd be a lot of rebuilding, probably large numbers of homeless and displaced people, damage to the world economies, etc.

I thought we knew that. It's an alternate universe because of the events of the first one. The first one was 1996 if aliens attacked. This one will take place in present day if aliens attacked twenty years ago.

It's not going to look like OUR present day.

I think it's gonna be like a Robotech type deal, where the humans have rebuilt society in this post-apoc setting using alien tech, and THEN the aliens come back…for whatever reason. Is Earth really worth the pain, Alien Dudes?

Independence Day sequel, Liam Hemsworth if he ends up being in it, I can see him being the boyfriend of Bill Pullman's daughter Patricia Whitmore all grown up and Liam's character will probably be a hotshot pilot

And Dylan, Will Smith's step-son in the first movie, Vivica A. Fox's son all grown up, he will probably be a hotshot pilot too in the Air Force

It would be fun to see the in the movie when the initial alien invasion begins to commence we are made to think "OH **** we are screwed" when all of a sudden the military unleash their new advanced weapons which destroy the aliens very quickly which sets off an even bigger impending alien invasion war.

Yes and the aliens invading Earth again would be great but I wonder if Whitmore in the sequel if he would even still be President especially considering all these years have gone by since the first film like 20 or so years into the future no telling that a lot could have happened between then and now especially after the aliens nearly destroyed Earth

It would be perfect if Will Smith were in this or hell you could have him cameo at least

And we obviously know Randy Quaid his character won't be in the sequel but how about his children? Didn't he have 3 kids in the first film? I wonder what happened to his children in the 20 or so years after their father sacrificed himself I would want to see them in the sequel too

Well, for starters, all those giant ships fell on the biggest cities in the world, and they were all almost as large as the cities themselves, i guess that would cause quite a bit of damage.

We go to war with them. It started when they surprise attacked us in the first film but we still managed to just stop them so now we are at war with them only this time unawares to them we have upgraded our defence systems and are ready for when/if they ever try to attack us again...which they do which is where my idea comes in. They do return but we are prepared and blow them out of the sky before they can say David!, but this only angers them more and puts earth on red alert again.
