Those militaries are designed to support the American military.

UK has not had an indepedent foreign policu since Suez Canal 1956.

It's not that they couldn't have. Its that they won't. That's the way the NATO nations operate militarily. The U.S. military leads and the rest help and support and follow our lead. None of them would make independent attacks unless they were 100% sure the U.S. was entirely out of the fight. So had more time passed in the film the European nations may have acted independently but they wouldn't do it within the time frame of the first film covers. Them waiting a day or two on the U.S. military is what they would do so the first film is pretty accurate in that regard.

I suspect the film will show China a superpower roughly in line with the USA to suck up to the Chinese film market.

Also, in the first movie the other countries couldn't get **** done because of lack of Goldblum. One day he's going to retire from his days of hunting alien dinosaurs, and on that day the USA is toast.

it's a friggin 'classic' pro-america sci-fi 'here, have a pro-usa funfest to feel all giddy up about bein' 'merican'.

hell, nothing wrong with that actually, they made the movie, i don't get the big fuss why people hate on pro-america movies just because they're pro-america. yes it is.

hate it or love it.

but don't make ID4 like it was anything else than that. it's entertainment. not something to make humanity strive for some higher goal.

Independence Day and Alien have the best alien designs of any film ever made. I was obsessed with the ID4 toys growing up. I played the **** out of the giant Commander figure.
