They awarded him best new filmmaker which I don't think they give out anymore.

Anyway, they are filming at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel IN L.A till Tuesday.
They are using the interior and installing props to help transform the hotel into a engine room.

Yeah, from what his films show he's probably not very humorous, though not everybody's good with jokes, when it comes to his movies i don't mind them being so serious either.

I don't mind the seriousness of the films 80% of the time. He's a great director.

I just take it as his style, i think the few humor he gives in the movies works, and while serious, his films are never too depressing, and leave the audience with a sence of wonder by the end

Although the 38-year-old actor admitted that he had spent only few weeks filming for Interstellar, he spoke to fans about his experience working with Nolan. Affleck suggested that while working with someone as accomplished, talented and smart as Nolan can be intimidating. The Dark Knight Rises director is one of the humblest men Affleck knows. The actor said Nolan never threw his success "in your face."
"He makes you feel like you are just as smart as he is, which is not true," he added.

That gif is extremely funny. His awkward pose , like he would want to be anywhere but there. The juxtaposition with Brittany Murphy is really funny , but to be fair she's the only one actually moving around. Everyone is basically staring.

There's more humor in his films than people seem to recall. It's just more downplayed compared to the dramatic elements. That's a nice looking hotel.
