Interstellar - Part 3

I've seen a few interviews with crew members that give the impression that Nolan is a very funny guy.
Yep. Anne Hathaway was on Jimmy Fallon promoting TDKR and said Nolan was always quoting MacGruber. :woot:

A look back at the Nolan teasers (all released a year from the release)

Batman Begins

The Dark Knight

Inception

The Dark Knight Rises

Begins is easily the better. Tremendous teaser.

DK is dogcrap

DKR is title cards and Bane back

Inception is too anarchic. Although it introduces immediately one of the biggest images of the movie , and the sound design is particularly interesting.

Begins teaser is so amazing. I remember creaming my pants when I first saw it. I knew right then that it wasn't gonna be Shoemaker's Bat.

Begins teaser is the **** indeed. And TDK teaser is damn cool too. Inception teaser works. TDKR teaser has moments, but is ultimately a mess.

With that said; I at the least really like all of the end results.

TDK's teaser has value because it was the first time we heard Heath Ledger's amazing voice.

LOL TDKR teaser. I thought over time it would become less of a terrible teaser, but it's gotten worse.

The shots of the city are the only good part of the TDKR teaser. It didn't impress me to begin with when I saw HP & the Deathly Hallows.

I've totally forgot how awesome the Begins teaser was.

Imagine a nightmarish scenario: the teaser is a montage of all of Nolan's previous film in chronological sequence with a title card signaling his next, INTERSTELLAR.

TDK teaser is probably my favorite of the whole trilogy. So effective.

Yeah me too! One of the best teaser I've ever seen so far. Because it is what it is, a TEASER! It tease us. Hearing Ledger's voice at end and all the build up till that moment (escalation) everything was perfect IMO.

The Batman Begins teaser is the only one that I like. The others doesnt have enough to show. Inception is the worst because they showed the one thing that they shouldnt have shown.

I loved Inceptions teaser. At the time nobody knew what the heck was going on. It left a lot of people scratching their heads in a good way. Fantasic marketing all around really.

Hope we get a cool viral for Interstellar too.

Did Inception get viral marketing? I only remember TDK's fantastic and groundbreaking viral. Nothing has compared since.

The Begins teaser, regardless of how rushed and unfinished it was, was quality. I literally got goosebumps when I first saw it, especially the end, even though it only had quick shots of the already released promo images. When that logo faded in I was like.....

I'd imagine the marketing team will take the same approach with Inception, which was pretty much "Here's a new film from Nolan, the guy behind those other films you liked."

BB teaser is not only the best Nolan film teaser for me but also one of the best teasers I've ever seen. It was just so brilliant. :hrt:

It works amazingly well because its almost self-contained. It would be pitch perfect if it had a great Batman image (especially the cowl , not the whole body).

The Rises teaser still isn't good but the other three are. I kinda cringed at the Inception teaser because practically every damn film has been copying Inception's trailers. I wish they'd stop it already.

I miss actual teasers but now you have certain movies releasing 2min and 18 second so called teasers that aren't as affective as they should be because the money shots are not freakin finished. Anyway I look forward to seeing the teaser to the trailer everyone is going to be copying in the future.

I still don't get what was so wrong about the TDKR teaser. I think it's actually the best crafted of the three TDKT teasers. It refreshes you on what's come before which builds anticipation and lets you know that this is the final chapter, drops you in the middle of a major scene which raises big questions about the plot, and then drops a sweet villain reveal with mysterious chanting and an ominous title card. It's a very strong teaser IMO.

But yes, I adore the BB teaser too because of how damn stark it was.

Begins, TDK and Inception have perfect teaser imo. TDK and Inception's trailers were so good, everyone has ripped them off since. Looking forward to the Interstellar one. See if it sets a new standard. Because I am already pretty sure the teaser will be good.

Being that Zimmer has been working on the Interstellar score for a good while now, I fully expect to get a taste of the musical direction in the teaser. I'm really excited for that especially.

None of that matters. People want to tug their carrot seeing new footage, then they saw footage they've already seen, and felt limp. What new footage there was wasn't worthy of intrigue aside from the one of Bane rising (ha!) towards Batman, but it wasn't enough.

You could say that the point of a teaser is to tease, but it was the equivalent of a dance behind a curtain on the opposite block rather than a steamy lap dance up front. The dance behind the curtain may have been technically proficient, but damn it if it didn't tease.
