Yeah the whole TDK trilogy had great endings. But how excited did we all get at the end of BB when we saw that joker card ;) Oh man too good. And Gordon saying "I never said thank you" and Batman just saying "and you'll never have to" then gliding off and the music kicking in. BOOM. Amazing.

My reactions to each ending of the TDK trilogy

Begins: Biggest fist pump I've ever done in my life
TDK: Couldn't talk for an hour due to the shock and awe
TDKR: Biggest yell of happiness and excitement I've ever done.

The Prestige's ending had me feeling like I had just been owned.

Inception's ending had me cursing in the theater, because I couldn't believe the guy had me in the palm of his hand again.

Now I'm really excited to see what happens with Interstellar. I feel like the old school event film has kind of become a lost art, but now you have A Chris Nolan movie where even in the calmest of theaters, the audience starts to react just by seeing his name. That happened at the theater I work in the past two days when this new Interstellar played. You see people talking or checking their phones during the trailers, but once they see his name they shut the heck up and put their phones away. It's awesome. I don't think they even needed to put "the director of Inception and The Dark Knight Trilogy" on there, but that was smart and awesome to see anyway.

I especially love your reactions to those endings dude haha.

I think I gasped and then started laughing after Inception. Others in the audience had a similar reaction. That was a hell of a wink to the audience.

How does somebody give The Prestige a 1/10? That script is amazing.

Never understood the "Nolan is cold" argument either.

I thought nolan works good with emotion.
My favorite emotional scenes from his movies are

Batman Begins: whose fault is it for the death of the waynes.

Prestige: Borden saying goodbye to his twin.

The Dark knight: Bruce thinking that rachel wanted him.

Inception: Cobb's waiting for a train riddle.

The Dark knight rises: anyone can be a hero.

:yay:

Your avatar reminded me of another reason why i'm looking forward to this. McConaughey is on fire right now. He's picking his projects so well right now and the performances are just dynamite. I don't think I would like Lincoln Lawyer half as much without him, then Killer Joe, Magic Mike (which I felt he stole) Mud, Dallas Buyers Club, Wolf of Wall Street, True Detective. It's great to see that potential I saw in A Time to Kill finally come out in full force. Also there's just something about the fact that He got picked for this because of Mud, because I just loved that character and that movie in general.

Nolan does great stuff with vehicular action. His hand to hand... Most of it needs major work.

Agreed man he's just on a roll and I'm excited to see what he does in this film. True Detective just, my god. He better win an emmy.

I liked Wolf of Wall Street overall, but I truly do feel he stole the movie in 5 minutes of screentime. Very impressive performance/character.

If I'm understanding this new "time element" correctly...

- Cooper and his kids chase a Chinese drone at the beginning.

- When they find the drone, a probe is inside it.

- This probe acts as a beacon and "guides" them to NASA.

- Once at NASA, they study the probe and discover that it tells them the location of a wormhole, which leads to a new planet like Earth.

- Cooper gets on a shuttle to space, and goes through the wormhole, leading to the new planet.

- Once on the planet, Cooper and his team discover the Chinese drone, as well as the probe that they will implant information into in order to explain where the wormhole is as well as this new planet.

- Cooper sends the drone through the wormhole back to Earth.

- The drone flies to Earth, where Cooper and his kids are chasing it in the truck.

- Cooper and his kids find the probe inside the drone, which leads them to NASA, etc.

- While Cooper is away on the mission, Murph grows up into Jessica Chastain, who has been studying the probe's information all this time. It can in fact lead them to a new planet to continue the species. Cooper comes back, but is now the same age as his daughter.

They seem to want to avoid anything from the actual mission, outside of the usual. It is frustrating imo, as it limits the scope of the trailer.

For whatever it is worth, I like that. There is a bit of mystery about this but not in a frustrating "Super 8 isn't showing the monster sort of way." It is more that you know the premise, so please sit back and see where it takes you.

I do not know if that is good marketing or not, but it leaves me intrigued and refreshingly unspoiled. Plus, I really dig the Spielbergian vibe of it all. It is firing on all cylinders.

These are pretty significant spoilers so I'd suggest avoiding these for those that haven't read the script.

Pretty spot on (just based on the old script) except for two things.

BIG SPOILERS -

Cooper doesn't arrive in time for Murph to still be alive. In the script, who he met was already Murph's great grandson. I think that's who Ellen Burstyn is playing. Either Nolan changed it and she's the old Murph OR she's Murph's (great?) granddaughter.

Also, there's that big twist on what the new planet is.

I wonder if the Earth like planet they find might be Gliese 581g.

My favorite thing about the Batman Begins ending is the Superman: The Movie reference. :awesome:

It will be Earth at a different time.

Has the script people read come only before Nolan and co got their hands on it? Or was another shortly after leaked?

Cause if the script got out I can imagine Nolan changing the ending, his relationship with the audience and how they react seems to be very important to him so if he may feel like some already know it he could change it. Remember how close guarded TDKR's ending was? Some cast didn't even read it. And he changed the ending to The Prestige novel.

It got out after Nolan was already involved so yeah I'm totally expecting some changes which is more than fine with me. There's a part in the old script that I didn't like so I'm hoping that Nolan took that out. :oldrazz: So far though it seems to be following the same structure more or less.

How did he change the ending to The Prestige? Also what is the ending to the original script for Interstellar?

Just seen the trailer for the second time and it gave me the feeling to read a old sci-fi book. It actually felt like it had and old school type of vibe to it.

OK, I caved and read a few spoilers. This definitely seems like it will be crazier than Inception. Could also be messier. Not sure how he's going to put it together. Guess we'll find out.
