"How's Spectacular Spider-Man?"

"SO GOOD."

That line From Harry in SM3 seems to be an online sensation now.
everywhere I go online there is a least one spot where that line is posted.

I know. It was a great line and Franco performed it well, that's why.

Dread, fantastic review as always. And yes, Eddie isn't going to be responsible with his powers. Despite seeing Peter's memories, he's all about revenge. Brock is only out for himself and I do not feel sorry for him.

DID the symbiote give him everything? It looked more like Eddie was only seeing enough to make him hate Peter even more. Most of that stuff was the "bad" things Peter did.

Good point. If I recall, I don't think he showed him the memories where he was saving people. Maybe the alien blocked those memories.

PJBoy where are you with that link for the episode lol ?

Thanks.

Yeah, Eddie Brock is the sort of guy I may understand in terms of his motives, but I don't feel too sympathetic towards him. Brock would talk a big game about being true to others but when his own life feel apart, it was all about avenging himself upon Peter, to the point where he literally flirts with killing MJ on a highway, just because Peter likes her. And that was before the alien attached himself. Peter didn't allow the lemons life threw at him to make him bitter and angry, but Brock has.

Again, the alien gave Brock all of the answers he needed, but he didn't care about understanding why Peter did some of the things he did, or sympathizing. All he saw were two enemies become one. Even if, I have to admit, seeing Spidey return the alien only to seemingly kill it had to hurt. Spider-Man, despite it all, is someone who is capable of forgiveness; flawed as SPIDER-MAN 3 may have been, it cemented that point. Brock isn't. Nothing is good enough to satisfy the wounds he has, and he usually doesn't care who he has to crush in the way. The alien will just bring out the worst in him.

I should also add, the episode had a cover homage to ASM #100.

Me thinks the symbiote only showed Brock the memories that would just add more fuel to the fire.

SERIOUSLY!?

That's awesome.

That means Asner has had a role in pretty much every Spider-Man cartoon for the past 15 or so years. Except SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED, but I wouldn't blame him for that one. Now if Jennifer Hale has a role in SS-M, she could officially have had a role in every Spidey cartoon since the 90's. ;)

Recast her as the voice for BC in season 2. ;)

I have to say she is that character.

I also kinda' wish aSner was still JJJ.

I agree.
the symbiote bassically only showed Eddie flashbacks of scenes that reveal that Peter is Spider-Man

So is Eddie emo? I'm hoping they don't play CRAAAAAAAAWWWWLING INNNNN MY SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIN while Brock goes on a rant of how Spidey ruined his life. Maybe Spidey will tell him to grow a pair while lands a few good punches on him.

I don't think it was very difficult. Last week, Brock was scaring the **** out of MJ and flirting with kamakazing with her just to get to Peter. Any time someone tries to defend or explain for Peter, Eddie just gets angrier.

It is like the comics, "We share a beautiful hatred!"

I liked Tricia Helfer's Black Cat. :o

LMAO!!
u should see one of my submission the to "SM3 CAPTION" thread.

The symbiote seemed to show the stuff Peter did that specifically PO'ed Brock (The Lizard thing, as well as going to the dance with someone else after telling Gwen he wouldn't) and other stuff that would (Peter is Spidey, Peter makes money by taking pictures of himself, Peter kept the symbiote instead of immediately giving it back) make him even more PO'ed.

agreed

When Spidey was in that symbiote cocoon and he was thinking about all of the people in his life, did anyone recognize the homage to The Amazing Spider-Man #100, or Ultimate Spider-Man #100 cover?

Heh, I bet someone will inevitably make an AMV of that on YouTube.

Considering Brock was Peter's "oldest friend", he sure forgot quickly that Peter lost his parents, had his uncle murdered, and the Parkers struggle for money. No, none of that matters nearly as much as Brock losing his job. But some people are like that. Tragedy can bring out the best and worst in people, and for Brock it brings out the worst.

I mean, while Brock certainly isn't as bad, even Hitler played the victim card. No one believes they are as bad as they are. It is always someone else's fault. Brock was allowing his hardships to twist him into a creep before the alien.

MJ: "Pete may not be perfect, but whatever his faults, he's twice the man you'll ever be."

1.) This topic is not needed

2.) Well the USM #100 varient is homage to ASM #100, so ultimately its homage to ASM #100.

Yeah, he doesn't even have the sympathy factor Harry did where it's clear he was crazy due to how his dad treated him and other really nasty stuff that happened to him. And Harry also made up for most of the bad stuff he did.

And lo and behold, when they got around to giving Eddie a background they ripped off Harry again.

Which only solidifies the idea that HARRY should have always been Venom in the comics and every version.

Ah, so true. Its all about Brock. No one else matters. Only thing that means squat is his pain. This was why I never felt sorry for Venom in the comics because he only had himself to blame for what happened to him. And when he finds the alien is still alive in this ep, he only thinks of revenge. He screwed himself right there.

That's a bit of a revolutionary idea there. Harry always had the Goblin legacy.

True. Brock could have resisted the lure and simply been glad the alien was alive and he could keep his job, regardless of Spider-Man.

But, as in a line from GOLGO 13: QUEEN BEE: "There's revenge. There's ALWAYS revenge."

"revenge is for chumps!"

Making Harry into Venom would've brought it full circle seeing how Harry has always been the true Anti-Peter, in EVERY version of Spider-Man Harry is in. So it makes more sense he'd end up as the Anti-Spidey as well.

Plus it would make him more distinct from Norman and allow them to co-exist as villains. Norman as the Goblin and Harry as Venom.
