Iron Fist Iron Fist General Discussion Thread - Part 4

The positive is there is no feasible way that season 2 can be worst than its first

How many episodes is next season?
10

The only hope is for the same budget, which would be more per episode.
I doubt Netflix will pay what 13 episodes cost for only 10 episodes of content. More likely there may be a higher budget per episode because it's not lumped in with the budget for the other shows. Now Marvel can negotiate a budget more customize to this show. They could say "This is how much we originally thought it would cost, this is how much it actually cost (if they went over budget), and this is how much they would like to make it better. More time for planning and filming action scenes, build set and wardrobe for Kun Lun, etc." but it's much easier to negotiate that when the first season is successful. The 10 episode seems like a compromise to me to prevent cancellation. As in they feel the show has potential but want to limit the potential loss if it were to fail.

Some more per episode but probably not significantly.

Interesting choices, though I was kind of hoping we were done with the Hand, LOL! I liked the Hand in Iron Fist the most, actually. But, they were boring in DD season 2 and in Defenders they were fairly boring as well (though improved from DD season 2).

The Hand and Hydra are two Marvel villain groups that need a rest.

They need a break now. Have been in quite a few shows.

Looks like Iron Fist is coming to blu ray June 4th. Listed on the Zavvi US site for that date and pre-order (Zavvi's is a steelbook). I will be waiting to get this at Best Buy or on Amazon.

This could be a UK only date, but we shall see. Even if it is, the US date should be sometime within a month of that date.

I guess I’m one of the few that liked Iron Fist. It set up The Defenders well.

I appreciate it when they give evil shadow organizations a backstory.

I wish they focused more on human smuggling or sex rings rather than the continued aspect of "heroin". We needed to see more of the evil from The Hand.

I enjoyed the first season, not brilliant, but still enjoyable.

I agree, I would’ve preferred for the focus to be more on the 5 fingers instead of just Danny’s perspective. Also, there was too much emphasis on the Meachum family, and Joy’s turn into a bad guy sort of came out of nowhere.

And Harold dying and coming back to life hahahah

I just wish they'd didn't feel the need to show the villain in every damn episode. Especially if they didnt actually do anything meaningful in that episode.

Let's not forget how dumb the Hand's plan was and how they basically lampshaded how the faction heads were trying to kill each other in Iron Fist when they meet again on Defenders.

Or how Madame Gao wasn't set up at all to be part of the Hand in Daredevil S1 and S2.

So overall just a complete failure on the parts of all involved. Let's pray season 2 had better writing. It should be done filming within a month.

Which show had that teaser of the costume? Somebody watching some B&W footage of a guy in an Iron Fist suit (with mask) beating up like eight guys in a forest somewhere. Which episode was that? I can't remember anymore.

I think it was episode 10, it was footage from like the 1930's or something. Which they showed more detail in the show.
