I never gave my opinion about Skyfall.

I like the song. I really do like the song. I know people have a problem with the extra voices during the chorus, but I actually like that part too. I just wish I could love it. I feel as though Adele was on autopilot during it and didn't give it her all for it. I wish she belted out the last few notes and ended on a much stronger note. The song builds up for that and it just ends. I'd make a comparison but the comparison a bit too risque haha. Still, I think it's a good one, though I wish Adele tapped into her inner Shirley Bassey more.

By the way, I still like Supremacy more though. Damn Muse, why do you guys keep releasing songs that would be great Bond themes around the times of the movies (this and Undisclosed Desires). Muse have to do the theme for the next Bond movie.

I also think he's underrated as an actor. Granted, he can't sing, but I enjoyed his performances in Dante's Peak, The Thomas Crown Affair, Evelyn, Grey Owl, Laws Of Attraction, After The Sunset, Seraphim Falls, and he was the best part of Remember Me.

It does if you understand that people have different opinions. People look for different things in "their" James Bond, just like they do their favorite Doctor Who or Batman.

I don't think Moore is the best Bond, but the difference is that with Adam West's Batman, it was all spoof, and nothing could be taken seriously. With Roger Moore's Bond, sure there were some campy moments, but there were equally many serious or neutral moments and you could still watch it as a proper film, not a send up. Was there any spoofish moment at all when, for example, Bond was on top of that globe bomb thing in TSWLM in the submarine?

Yes, if you ignore half of his films, they weren't THAT campy.

How can anyone argue there is anything equal here? He made Moonraker, The Man with the Golden Gun, and A View to Kill. Complete camp. He was in Live and Let Die and Octopussy, mostly camp. TSWLM and FYEO have plenty of camp.

TSWLM has Jaws, the car crashing through the roof of a house and a man exiting completely fine, a rocket sidecar, a car that can turn into a sub, and the chicken joke. All in one scene.

I am guessing that due to the file being leaked and the big stink over M's involvement she steps down or is asked to step down and Mallory is presented as her replacement. It is at this time that Bond "returns to the living" and Mallory is acting as commander of MI6. Bond goes through his rehabilitation and training. After a while we get this scene with Bond fully recovered and "Ready for duty" and to stop Silva. Mallory asks him if he is "Ready to return" and Bond slyly responds "With pleasure." And then he's off to kick ass and take names. I don't think the scene is at the end or confirms anything about M. It most likely confirms that Mallory will be acting commander throught the film in place of M.

It's not just the red leather door and wood panelling, even the lamps and desk are the same. (based on production photos in Bond on Set) Also, if you watch the earlier "007 reporting for duty" spot more closely, you'll notice that the line does not appear to fit the shot. Most of the line is said during the fade in. The hardcore Bond fans think that all that Bond is actually saying there is "M?".

I agree it is very likely, but it isn't a done deal. Either way, I am going to miss Dench when ever she finishes up. The woman is M for me, though they might have found a truly worthy replacement.

Of course, none of this is certain. However, I still stand by that point. Yes, it is the 50th Anniversary film, but that doesn't mean bringing back old images just for the sake of it. Why give classic M's office to a character who the audience would immediately dislike? Some political interloper coming in and taking beloved Dench-M's job away from her. Doesn't make much sense. Besides as I said, M is already reporting to Mallory in a different office as shown by the tv spots and that appears to be rather consistently his office throughout the film. (M and him have a daylight discussion about the loss of the drive, then an evening one about Bond's progress and him being "somewhere" in the South China Sea)

I like Dench M, but, for me, she made more sense during Brosnan's tenure with Bond being portrayed as an older, experienced agent who is a relic of the Cold War and her as a force of modernity in the Service. I'm ready for the return of the crusty old Admiral and I think Fiennes' Mallory is an excellent update of Sir Miles. He's gruff but not unlikeable. I love the way he asks Bond about why he didn't stay dead. There is a compassion and knowingness to his question, sounds like two old soldiers talking as equals.

Dench's M and Craig's Bond have been perfect together imo. They were great in Casino Royale, and even better in QoS. People can complain about the latter all they want, but their relationship was dynamite in it. She can be moody with him and he seems to know how to handle it in the right way every time. The description of her as his mother, excellent.

As to your other points. Are you even sure that is Mallory's office? Have we seen him in it or has it been identified as his office? Could it not simply be "M's" office no matter who "M" is at at the time?

So I was looking up Skyfall info and just read that it cost $50 million less then QoS. Did they just waste money on QoS or something? This film loos much bigger.
