No stupid watch lasers, no invisible cars, no jetpacks, no driving cars under water, no driving cars in space, no creating guns out of pens, Zipos, paper clips and the such...I mean come on, let's not make Bond silly again. When we have FINALLY escaped the stupid crap from the past let's not bring it back...and we need hotter chicks. I love me some Vesper...Camille, not so much

But I agree it shouldn't be too over the top. But I would like to see some gadgets and the villains need to be a bit more larger than life, with their extraordinary bases/lairs.

I love gadets myself too for bond. But like I said there is still plently of things they can do that doesn't take away all of the more realism craig series has been. But it will be nice to have that staple back. Like I said the other day. What's the point in bringing back q if he will just be nothing on gadgets and reduced to a tech advisor. Brining up missions/etc... at mi6.

But I agree it shouldn't be too over the top. But I would like to see some gadgets and the villains need to be a bit more larger than life, with their extraordinary bases/lairs.

I think you see where I'm coming from...it did make Bond a pop culture icon, but those days are behind us now and this is a new era of Bond, a more realistic Bond. Now yes, there are zip guns and stuff like that out there. I don't mind seeing Q disguise weapons as everyday objects, but like I said, let's not go over the top. With the technology we have today if Bond tried to use commercial flight with his gadgets he'd never make it through security...and I'm sure he wouldn't be flashing his MI6 ID, because that would pretty much give it away that hey, this guy is a spy. They need to be smart about it and I think the producers have realized that silly gadgets need to be left out of the franchise now...but make gadgets that would make sense for Bond to use.

Bond.The producers have habit of having the hot things Influence Bond films.Anyone
who thinks this Bond series won't ever have the spectulce the previous series had sooner or later are going to be proven wrong.The rumor of guns coming out of Aston martin could very well be true.

The movies doesn't have to be that realistic.

The gadgets should just be toned down, not completely rid of. A few gadgets won't hurt, but also at the same time they shouldn't automatically be deus ex machima like the early ones where Q knew what Bond exactly needed in his missions.

Cinematic Bond has always used gadgets; it's the plausability of the gadget which has always been the key to beleivability.

It fits some characters and movies, but I don't think Bond at his best should be all dark and realistic. Casino Royale was a great barebones intro for rookie Bond, and after QoS, some (not all) of the older elements like Q, Moneypenny, and gadgets should come back.

There are some thing that definitely should stay in the past. It's not like I'm saying Bond should be a dick, molest a nurse, and then blackmail her into sex (like he actually in Thunderball), and some gadgets should stay in the past.

Connery's Bond didnt take no guff from the fairer sex. Actually, saying that Lazenby's Bond slapped Tracy and Moores Bond was absolutely wicked to Maude Adams' character in The Man with the Golden Gun.

Of course Bond ought to have gadgets- they just need to seem like plausible and satisfactory pieces of machinery.

Fibre wire hidden in the wrist watch, a carbon-bladed dagger in the shoe sole, semtex hidden in a can of shaving foam, or a listening device hidden in a sexy lady agent's earring are all inherently cool and fun.

Invisibility devices and laser cannons are inappropriate, unless Bond is going toe-to-toe with a Predator.

I don't think Bond will be fighting the Predator anytime soon. And yeah, I like a rigged attache case, or a rigged shaving cream can, the wire in the watch is a good idea that I really like. MAYBE the knife in the shoe...not too sure about that one. There are gadgets that I can deal with, some need to be left in the past

Anyone who doesnt think that actual spies have employed items [that could easily be described as 'gadgets'] either doesnt know what they're talking about or is ignorant. One only has to visit the Spy museum (http://www.spymuseum.org/exhibits) to see a plathora of genuine spy 'gadgets' that have been used in the past, many of which make some of the gadgets in the world of Bond seem totally plausable. There is actually an umbrella fitted with a needle that injects poision. How is that any different from, say, a watch that deploys cheesewire from the crown?
