James Bond In Skyfall - Part 7

They were going to replace Moore, but they chickened out when they found out about Never Say Never Again. They didn't want a new Bond going up against Sean Connery.

I forgot about Octopussy vs Never Say Never Again.

Octopussy won that fight in the end.

I remember rumors that before Sony acquired MGM, Sony had the rights to Casino Royale, and were going to make their own Bond film without EON's involvement. But since Sony bought MGM after Die Another Day, EON got the rights to CR back.

Thunderball is strong in areas and weaker in others. Though I still like the film. I loved how the opening started until the jetpack and oil came into play.

Because I ****ing loved seeing Bond smack the **** out of the disguised man.

I didn't have as much a problem with the jetpack because it probably did look cool in the 60s (and also that's real technology from the 60s).

Thunderball still suffered from pacing problems as I feel that underwater scenes were way too long and that they were that length just to show off the technology.

It just kind of took out the excitement and tension of the scene due to beforehand Bond relying on his wits to get him out which I always preferred.

Simply putting on a jetpack to get out of the situation seemed to be a cheat for me.

It's because Lazenby was being a dick and decided not to do another movie because he thought he would be an in demand Hollywood star. That went well.

He couldn't get a job because he was essentially blacklisted for turning down James Bond. So he's forced to do "The Man from Hong Kong" just for the money

Other than James Bond, the only role that I really remember him in is as Johnston Pettigrew in Gettysburg.

Director Terence Young even complained about those overly long underwater scenes. They are a bit of a chore to get through.

The 90's - not a good era for updates to some of my favourite tv shows. Still have nightmares about Bionic Showdown, Still Crazy like a Fox (ok, technically that one was in the 80's), Knightrider 2000, The New Professionals and Columbo seasons 8, 9 and 10.

Claudine Auger was gorgeous.

I think she's overrated within Bond fandom. I always prefered and she also happens to be my favourite Bond girl, Luciana Palluzzi (sp?) aka Fiona Volpe.

Oh yeah, she was tasty too - but ultimately, I think she was too good at playing the evil ***** that it kind of make me go off her [kind of a complement to her performance when I think of it].

Daniela Bianchi, Barbara Bach and Jane Seymour are all up there as well.

Daniela Bianchi is at the top for me. I love that scene with her in the bed when she first meets Bond.
