True, either way, it's someone Webb didn't kill.

Of course, but he's also someone the audience doesn't know a thing about and someone else we can't really count as a villain either. And he could also just be some assistant that won't play a threat either in any following films.

Not as big a threat as the supervillains no, but definitely can be a threat at Oscorp as shown with Dr Connors.

So much of a threat that he never appears again after his limo is tossed over a bridge. As you said, you don't go by deleted scenes, so after the bridge scene, he isn't a villain anymore; he was only a minor obstacle that just knew about Peter's parents and that Osborn is dying.

You seem to be giving Raimi a free pass for the 3 villains and 1 anti-hero he's killed, and it just doesn't work that way.
Raimi has killed one villain in every one of his movies. That puts his death count at 3; 4 including Harry.

I'm not giving anyone a pass. Only seeing the facts that after Raimi's trilogy, one villain survived. After TAS-M, one villain has survived. When it comes to the sequel and if any villain lives on, that will make Webb's series better in that aspect of Webb keeping more than one villain alive.

Webb doesn't have a body count other than Uncle Ben.
That's what makes him superior, he didn't rely on cheap deaths.

And again you're going by the first film only. You oughta wait for at least the sequel and then wait to see which is superior or not, as they are both even.

Filming starts monday, no casting news for JJJ,Norman, Kingpin. I'm getting nervous.

They are cutting it too close. If they are following the Ultimate books you can not have Electro without Kingpin.

Hopefully they are surprising us.No casting for Daily Bugle, Robboe Robertson?

You can't do a Curt Connors story without Martha and Billy but yet they did, so I don't understand why Kingpin is a must in using Electro, Ultimate version or not.

And I'm not surprised no one has been cast yet for the Daily Bugle family; always thought they wouldn't show up until the third film anyways since Peter is still in high school after all. Peter in Raimi's trilogy didn't even start to work there until after high school.

And as for Norman? If Massee is Norman Osborn, then they have him already, or they could keep it hush-hush for who's playing Norman for a while.

I believe the filming has to start in the next 2 months, it has to be. More people have to be in this movie.

I had thought of a plot point in the sequel to show how bad ass Norman Osborn is, to punish Connors he sends in his thugs to hold him down and inject him with a larger does of his serum making him in the traditonal lizard with snout, wild and animalistic.

Relax....

1. Do we really need Kingpin? As much as I want to see him again in a Marvel Universe movie, he's not necessary here if you have Norman.

2. We still need confirmation as far as WHO Felicity Jones is playing. If she is indeed Betty Brant then I would start panicking and fretting a little as to who they'll get to play Robbie Robertson and J. Jonah Jameson, but as expected, their parts will be supporting roles and fillers. Not exactly acquire a lot of time for actors, but they're definitely necessary to Peter's journey and growth. I'd cast Danny Glover or Ernie Hudson as Robbie personally.

3. Electro is probably going to be, least according to Foxx himself, Spider-Man's 'buddy.' He's going to aide him a little bit until his sudden accident and transformation into Electro. Rhino I feel will be Norman's main henchman while Electro will team up with Rhino later. So, as long as you have Norman and have him being the puppeteer, you don't need Kingpin or any mob boss. It'd be nice to see Purple Man, Tombstone, or Silvermane, but they aren't really needed either.

I would have kinda liked it if maybe Giamatti was playing JJJ if they can't get Simmons back. But he's already confirmed for Rhino so oh well.

Its unfortunate that FOX has a hold of these characters. Man, I can't imagine what they would have done to Spider-Man if they had his film rights. It probably would have been like that Daredevil movie...

the director's cut of daredevil was great. take out that playground scene and it is on par with x-men 1, spider-man 1 and probably others as well.

What're you talking about man? Relax, they aren't going to tell us in on everything, or else we'd known how the film may shape up to be. Honestly I didn't even expect them to tell us who's playing MJ or Harry this early. We'll also get hints at what else the film will bring through set photos.
