Jared Leto IS The Joker - - - Part 12

I can only think of cliche ****.... a skull with a jester hat on, a gun with a BANG flag.

So fun little exercise here:

If you were designing the Joker, and tattoos were a mandate, what tattoos would you give him?
That all of his tats weren't obvious cliched callbacks to The Joker. I would also make them look amateurish, as if The Joker did it himself. So if they had to have the "damaged" on the forehead, I would have it be a little sloppy in his lettering, and also have it be written backwards, as it would be something he did in the mirror.

All of these professional looking Joker themed tats just seem so odd, to me. I can understand the jewelry, cars and outfits, but the tats still seem like such an odd choice, especially with the kind of tats he has.

I think the self-referential "branding" is just right, though I might have chosen more knowingly retro-comicbook designs such as that commonly worn by his henchmen back in the Silver Age.

Now that I think about. What would have been great if all his tats were quotes from the comics

"Just one bad day"

"Here's to Crime" maybe with a pic of Jester giving a toast.

"The comedy is in the timing."
"Put on a happy face."
"Some things are naturally funny."

I do like "God's only child."

Instead of a skull with a jester hat, maybe Punch from Punch and Judy?

Joker has always been about dark irony. The whole shtick is him being his wacky ironic self to me. Like, a thugged out guy with tats all over his body, I could see comic Joker doing that for a laugh.

eh, That wouldn't work on this joker imo.
He's obviously very vain and he likes for his stuff to be flashy and clean.
Can't imagine him covering himself in poorly done/ sloppy tattoos.

I can't see him covering himself in tattoos at all, but if he did, I can really only see him doing it himself.

Did you hate Ledger's design, in how he had a cut smile, covered himself in sloppy makeup, with long unkempt hair and a dirty suit?

I do prefer the design for this Joker to Ledger's, which is to say nothing of script and performance.

I still don't like some things here and there, but overall, this is my favorite look for live action. I think it's his eyes, along with the hair and the permawhite. The skin color is just right. It's not too over the top white that looks like makeup that is caked on like all the other versions we've seen, it actually looks like his skin color.

And again, those eyes. Stuff of (k)nightmares.

With the introduction of this image, it's definitely a worthy contender

I am so excited that this Joker promises to demonstrate that unnerving lurch from the polished fop to the bestial madman. I have been arguing for that to be a motif for movie Jokers for years.

I have faith in Ayer. But man i wish he contacted Nolan on how to write/direct the Joker for this film.

If it just came down to mannerisms, quips and comedy then Jack would be the best Joker ever.

However, the writing was so profound in The Dark Knight and Ledger was able to capture the character perfectly.

I want to know whats under the surface of this Joker. Not just doing random cool/funny stuff. We'll get the madness. I want the method (no pun)

I admit I was disappointed that Batman's mask was indeed for his under water scene. I remember seeing the Batman mask a while back. I had hoped it was because the Joker used Joker venom at the party.

I couldn't imagine it. Joker wouldn't alter his bodily appearance unless he has some profound reason for it. Like when he had his own face cut off, he didn't do it for irony or a laugh.

This, and the other one of him shooting the machine gun, are the only images of Letoker I think are genuinely good so far. None of the bling bling jewelry here, only one visible tattoo, he's wearing the Alex Ross like black tux, and the dark lighting highlights the white face and makes him look really menacing.

I actually like the bling and garish suits, if I'm being honest. It's a play on the "modern gangster." Frankly, take away all the tattoos and I'd be 100% happy with it.

After Nicholson and Ledger, I welcome a Joker that flaunts a lavish and expensive lifestyle.
