Leto is killing this. I always look forward to a new Joker portrayal.

It got me thinking, the Joker has gotta be up there with the most iconic characters. That much is obvious. But I mean every time there is a new version it's an event itself. The fact that it's a different actor each time builds the anticipation. Everyone wants to see the reinvention of the Joker.

Its the reason he got the role. Ryan Gosling didn't want to do a multi picture deal.

They offered the role to Gosling? I don't think I've heard about this. I remember talk about them being interested in him for Batman though.

Yea. Leto was the #1 target for Dr. Strange at the time.

Once Gosling passed WB/DC focused their attention on Leto before he went to Marvel.

Ah, okay. Yeah, I remember the Dr. Strange stuff. But was that before or after Marvel was targeting Jaoquin Phoenix?

People keep saying that Gosling would have made a great Joker, but I frankly cannot see it.
