Jared Leto IS The Joker - - - - - - Part 15

I'm more miffed about WB going on and on about their filmmaker-driven approach and then gutting these films in post production.

Indeed. This needs to stop, immediately.

Anyway, as for Joker, the cut they forced made him appear to be genuinely in love with Harley, cutting out him slapping her, etc. (which screws up not just the character, but the relationship a cartoon had the balls to depict as abusive, while WB chickened out), and I don't like much the contextualization of the character as a gangster (as I said before) nor am I a fan of how Leto played him, feeling that he was overacting in some scenes. With that being said, considering that not only character's screen time was greatly reduced, but his whole purpose was tied to Harley's story, I am not writing him off yet and am willing to give Leto's Joker another chance in a film where he gets to be fleshed out properly and is not limited by Harley Quinn as he was in SS.

In short - didn't like him here, would like to see him again. :p

Yeah. I honestly think they had him pining after Harley so much because that was the only way they could justify keeping him in the film.

heath ledger was a great joker, that party scene combined with that interrogation scene was incredible in TDK

but he wasnt a scary joker like the leto One , this new joker make u feel real uncomfortable we need more from him

that scene with cap griggs at the restaurant was krazy,

I wanted to give Leto a chance...but what I saw of him as Joker wasn't enough for me to really have an opinion on his performance... I mean, I enjoyed his scenes with Harley. Those were the best but if only they were fleshed out more, and the film itself, the whole thing would have been heck of a lot better than what WB thought was good.

not scary? perhaps you should ask Gambol after that 'you wanna know how i got these scars' scene in TDK. leto's joker pales in comparison . you cant rewrite history , just look at the finished product

Leto Joker was terrible. He not funny or scary. He look bad. He just want to find Harley because he miss her. That not what Joker is like about Harley. He barely in movie too. They should have left him out because he not worth having in it and he just over act most of the time and have stupid dialogue. Boring bad version of Joker.

Did anyone make sense of the weird sharpied mouth outline Joker had in his knife room scene? Was he just going nuts looking for Harley? Didn't gather why that was there.

He's crazy! Didn't you get the memo? :cwink:

There's no sense to make of it.

i think he was high as a kite in that particular scene. he could barley string a few words together.

He seemed as he was drugged out of his mind in that scene.

Not saying that it explains the pencil drawn outline around his mouth, just observing the fact that he seemed to be on drugs. :p

the Delivery was great but that scene wasnt scary at all,
doesnt mean he wasnt good,

i don't think it wasn't meant to be scary but to almost convey a kind of desperation he was feeling. she was out of his realm of control, even more importantly it was the bat who took her. and as she belongs to him, her not being there is a direct weakness in his self-image. for whatever reason he dived into aced after her, the moment he did he sealed their fate together. he could have gotten rid of her forever but he chose not to. after that they are bound for life more or less.

I thought he was making fun of Bale's "WHERE IS SHE" from TDK. :woot:

Honestly I'm just waiting for Leto in 3-4 months to really let rip and call this movie his worst experience ever or whatever, he seems annoyed.

i don't think the experience was bad for him - probably the contrary, he is dissatisfied with the perceived end result. and i totally understand him.

Maybe it could galvanise him to comeback for the Batman solo and want to absolutely crush it, I hope so. It just seems the more interviews I see from him post release the more disappointed he seems to be.

Hey I don't blame him. Honestly...from what I saw of him, I liked but...thing is it felt like he was just there. Cutting a lot of his scenes was a mistake on the studio's part...if his scenes weren't cut and if some were included, I think I would have given Leto more of a honest opinion.
