Looks like the "itch in his crotch" has just been kneed :o

To the ppl complaining about deleted scenes, It's called filmaking, guys. :o
No, I'm this case it's called ridiculous. Leto was very excited about this role and put a lot into it to then have the bulk of it cutout. Not to mention he's now being ridiculed for his performance when he didn't even have more than all of 10 mins to work with...

I've heard people say that Leto is similar to Hamill's Joker after one of the test screening. Although because two different versions were shown at the test screenings I guess that the Hamill comments came from the version that didn't get the theatrical release.

Yea one of the guys said its amazing how things can change with different editing.

Another guy said Leto was a great Joker...until the updated theater version.

Yeah, I feel bad for Leto. I didn't have a problem with his performance other than this Joker didn't make much of an impression on me. But I think that's mostly due to how little he was in the movie. He's in and out so quickly that it's almost forgettable.

Its as I've said before. The consensus is that most of his scenes are no longer than 90 seconds.

Imagine if there was an 8 to 9 minute edit/condensed version of Heath's Joker. He'd still be awesome because he was an amazing actor. However, even he wouldn't be as good as what we got without the cuts.

Up to at least 10 to 12 minutes was cut from this movie. I know that because I've talked to a person that saw it in May. That was just their best guess. However, the way Leto sounds it seems right.

For all the months of hearing about how scary this Joker is, and the cast continuing the whole stupid "the Joker personality has taken over the actor!" ****, he ends up pretty boring.

He doesn't do anything that interesting, doesn't get any good lines, and really just feels like a waste for how hyped up he was. He doesn't have any more bite or depth than, say, the animated series Joker, but that Joker had Hamill to give him more nuance and personality. This Joker spends half his screen time breathing heavily and doing his laugh that sounds more like the Penguin.

Just got out the theater. As a character and as a performance, it was forgettable. As a follow-up to such a monumental take on the character, it's an absolute travesty this is what they decide to put out to the masses.

My long time spent on defending this new take is well documented on the forum. I'm still standing by my word because I genuinely do believe there is exciting territory with this direction. But it just wasn't really on-screen.

I'd love to just pin this on the wonky editing and woefully cut screentime, but there were definitely moments where I feel Leto was also at fault. Whether it be the growling, the random neck stretches, or the heavily put on voice...once it starts becoming transparently "acting", the image falls apart.

As incredibly manufactured as Heath was in his whole embodiment of the character, I totally believed the Joker was completely alive and existed outside the bounds of the camera and film world. It felt like a being. Leto's came off like a performance. If it were great and riddled with memorable moments I could give it a pass. But this iteration was spread out far too thin to be of any significance.

I can't believe I'm saying it, but I wouldn't even bat an eyelash if this part were recast or if we never saw this take again. It's whatever. And that, more than anything, is incredibly disheartening considering my excitement and faith in this part.

This is all such a disappointment. Yeah, months of build up about how great of a job he's doing, he shows up at the end of the trailer, the laugh, "I started a joke", he's all over the posters, and then they're gonna say "What did you expect? It's a Suicide Squad movie, not a Joker movie." That is a crock (and I ain't talking about the Crocodile man neither)

And it is really understandable for why Jared is pissed at WB.

While the movie itself was terrible, I do like Leto's performance, but I won't compare him to any previous Joker because there's absolutely nothing to compare. Sighs.

I agree. I almost want to say he was over acting to the point of almost hammy. It just did not work for me. I agree that I would not mind him recast. I actually would prefer it.

If that Joker scene with him showing up at the end with his face burnt was still in the movie I think Joker should have looked like this.

Man, he seems rather upset, which of course I don't blame him.

Release Suicide Squad "Joker" ultimate edition for maximum profit.

I would be so damn upset. You step into this role to fill the enormous shoes of Ledger's performance, it takes a lot of guts, and it sounded like he put a LOT into his role, trying to make something special, then it is hyped up for months with these articles, and the promotion, and most of his work gets cut, leaving people walking out of the theater feeling very blah about this character that probably took a lot out of him, trying to create something special.

Hope he gets something more substantial in future films.

Exactly. While I enjoyed what we got, at the end of the day they still cut out way too much & I can understand Jared's immense disappointment.

It's even more disappointing that when Ayer was asked if they'd be among the deleted scenes on the DVD/Blu-Ray and he responds with "maybe." :o

That's the sad truth. The lovesick puppy stuff was just a big fat meh as well. Give me the manipulative abuser any day of the week. But hey, that's not politically correct. For a villain to be a villain. What a joke.

They shouldn't have marketed the film around Joker. All it's doing is letting people down. They shoulda kept him under wraps as much as possible.

I honestly dont know how to feel about Leto, there are a couple scenes where i was like "oh yeah thats Joker" but most of it was...odd, like when
he's purring at Ike Barinholtz and then he straddles him and starts touching his face
i turned to my friend and went "what the **** was that?" and maybe its just me but his line delivery sounded a little unnatural and forced at times, specifically in the scene where
he talks to Harley in the transport helicopter
idk there was just something...off about his dialogue.

If the list of cut scenes on Reddit is true, they essentially realigned his relationship with Harley to be loving rather then abusive/manipulative. This basically meant gutting his character and entire presence in the movie.

I mean according to the deleted scenes he physically hits Harley and even tries to kill her at one point, and then at the end she realises she is better off without him and chooses the Squad instead of him, which directly contradicts the ending in the actual movie... (my guess is this may of been one of the reshoots)

It's like WB/Ayer were originally were going to depict the real abusive, ugly side of Joker & Harley then they got cold feet (most likely after BvS) and decided to make them DC's version of Bonnie & Clyde.

Yep. It's pathetic. They received bad reviews anyway.

There is a set video of them filming that scene so I think the list of scenes cut from the movie is true.

No way they were going to depict hardcore domestic abuse in a PG13 movie.

Joker purring and straddling Ike was alright for me because it really reminded me of TDKReturns' Joker.

I mean, out of all the Joker's I know I feel like this was closest to TDKReturns' Joker. The overly sexual/feminine side to both sexes.

Define hardcore domestic abuse.

Could you make the argument whatever violence that entails overwhelms the type of violence already in the final cut?

What do you call it when it's two established super-villains? I mean it's a pretty twisted relationship already. Abuse is hardly a huge leap there.

I just got back from seeing the movie with a diverse group of people. All five of us liked Leto's Joker and would really like to have seen more of him. While I can understand why they cut out nearly all the abusive stuff, there were several Joker scenes we saw in the trailers that didn't seem to have anything to do with that which were also cut. I can certainly understand why Jared Leto is upset. To have cut off most of his hair, shaved off his eyebrows, put on all that muscle, filmed all those scenes, and been used so heavily to market the movie only to have all his work edited down to almost nothing has to be enormously disappointing. :csad:
