Making Joker an antihero is just wrong wrong wrong. When Joker is being seen as sexy or hot, or desirable and the Harley Joker relationship the same, well that is a bad thing. And a fundamental misunderstanding of the characters.

Welcome to the DCEU :o

If they take away those tattoos and place him as the primary antagonist of Affleck's Batman movie, I'd be moderately interested to see what they do.

The Harley/Birds of Prey idea sounds ok. I want to see Jared Leto's Joker take on Batfleck.

They'll take off the tattoos and grill and put him in a suit, I would be shocked if they went any other way.

If they do that it will be a clear admission they were wrong to go with that horrible design in the first place.

The fact that Ayer's had to come out and give an explanation for the grillz and Damaged tattoo suggests that the complaints were loud enough to get the studio's attention. He also said these details could be revised later on, furthering that suggestion.

Don't want to get my hopes up, though.

Did he really?

I mean don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to see them go. It's just insane how wishy-washy this endeavor has been thus far.

I'll settle for the classic jester outfit which looked awesome in that brief glimpse we saw of her in it.

I think he said that in a podcast recently.

I'd be down for a Joker / Harley solo if you keep them villains and put them against someone meaner, nastier than either of the two. I would go ahead and own the appearance you've picked. For me, the extent of the response to a simple tatt and set of grills seems silly.

I'd rather Harley go for her Assault on Arkham threads for her next appearance, but I'd hope they let Joker keep the crocodile skin jacket.

Yes, that grill has to go as well as the garish wardrobe.
The main complaint for me was the tats and the "Bling" I.E. Chains, earrings etc. though I wasn't crazy about the "grillz" I don't mind them now and if they stay then I'm fine with it. Not to mention, I rather liked the wardrobe. A little different but not bad..

The jewelry has to go but keep the grill, I just love the reason he has it being Batman knocked all his teeth out.
Harley's outfit should remain modernized and not that ridiculous jester outfit; it was bad enough her movie outfit had boots that would be impossible to fight it.

The general audience has no clue he has those grills because Batman knocked his teeth out. They can go.

There is no one meaner or nastier than Joker though. You can't have joker as the hero in a movie. It is the Joker FFS. :loco:

Then have them show Batman knocking his teeth out and have Joker say the teeth are a present from Batman.

I never understood how people, especially women, were on board such a demeaning relationship. I didn't get interested until I read a fanfic were they were both equally abusive to each other. He beat her and she responded by stabbing him or it went something like that; this awhile ago.

Keep joker and harley as the villains ....I'm not sure if it's happened in the cartoons where the villains turn against each other but putting Batman in the mix would be kinda interesting...

I just realized.. The DCEU in 2016 went throwback to 1989.

Batman murders
And the Joker is skirt chasing again...

Don't agree with this at all. The Joker is evidently charismatic and capable of charm, albeit charm laced with menace. He can inspire blind loyalty in the weak minded. Harley, for as long as she has existed, has demonstrated a romantic attachment to him.

This is not to say that the movie conveys this successfully- I haven't yet seen it.

Quite right. It's a gutless move to try and make Joker a more attractive character. He's supposed to be the worst of the worst. A terrifying, unpredictable monster... not a lovesick gang leader.

I have no probs with the tattoos...or the grills...or whatever. It's just that he looks like a cosplayer. To me his face isn't interesting enough to play the joker. He looks too young and too "normal". He looks just a regular fanboy with face paint on. He lacks the iconic facial expressions and facial lines that define The Joker. His hair is way too bright. Looks like a wig you could get at a $1 store. Just an overall poor look for The Joker. His acting is more than fine though.

He is right, but unprofessional. He's coming across as though he can't take the criticism and is looking to blame.

He's not the one being unprofessional. Mad respect for him actually telling the truth. Meanwhile eg. Ayer has been embarrassing himself left and right since the movie's release.
