I don't trust WB enough to make those presumptions. Fact is they had a rare actor who was willing to fill big shoes and choose this specific part as his follow up to an Academy Award. What they did to his part was a travesty.I don't really care about any of that. Besides, there's also the possibility that Leto's scenes were terrible, and the studio cut them down to minimize damage. This whole outrage over the injustice towards Leto only works under the assumption that his scenes were actually good, and I doubt the studio would have cut them if they were really THAT good.
I've no doubt he was pitched a far different presentation than what we were given. If he was going to fail, then let him fail on his own terms. Not in the editing room.
After hearing this, I hope Ben scoops him up. He deserves a second shot at it.
