Personally, I had no issue with the look and I actually liked it, even though I understand peoples complaints about it and why the Joker would never wear that stuff or have those tattoos. I did not like how much he cared about Harley though, and I found the scene in the helicopter to be cringe-inducing. He also seemed to me like someone who was trying to act as crazy as possible, rather than someone who was crazy. He was more like a Joker-wannabe IMO, rather than the actual Joker. It is a shame for me, because I really was looking forward to him and thought he would be great. I do not think more footage will change my view of him, although I still want to see it.

95% of the (short) time I saw Jim Carrey in Leto's performance.

Agreed. That helicopter scene was so bad. You could tell it was re-shot and dubbed over.

I only really ever got that feeling in the club scene. He sounds almost exactly him there.

Also, still can't really blame Leto for WB making it look like they're a happy couple. It's not his fault they edited all of the abuse out and gave the film a totally different narrative.

But hey, at least the extended cut will (hopefully) fix all of that.

Fingers crossed that the scene with Monster T is edited to be the way it should be and not be the same as what we got in the T-cut.

And while I didn't mind the take they used, let's hope they've also taken this opportunity to reinsert the original version of the "Really, Really Bad" scene.

Any fan of Jared Leto's Joker will be sorely let down by the EC.

Sorry guys.

EC turned out to be exactly the same, just a few extra lines in the electroshock scene and the motorcycle chase which doesn't even include Joker slapping her. welp,

how long until the director's cut? All the missing scenes aren't on the special features either.

Honestly, even that won't help this movie. This Extended Cut helped nothing.

Yeah just venting... I just want to see those scenes, I wouldn't pay again, I'm ready to move on to whatever's next.

Watching this - http://30seconds6277.tumblr.com/post/153206639382, lol @ some of the designs they had going on... I really wonder how Snyder would've done it. I don't agree with Snyder a lot but his Batman and Superman look great. These tattoo artists and stuff on Suicide Squad, yikes.

I liked this:

So annoyed that they cut out all of the Joker parts. Why even bother trying to create the Joker and Harley dynamic if you're not going to fully commit? :whatever:

You do realize that the studio got cold feet after BvS's reception, and that no one involved expected them to turn the movie upside down like they did?

Seems like Joker is in the special features more then the actual movie... Combine that with the fact they again used material not in the actual film to advertise the EC. They know Joker sells, but I actually think it is a really s***, deceptive and dishonest thing to do from the advertisers.

It was a tight situation, Joker had no business being in this movie but he was added because one of the main characters is heavily tied to him and since he's not some cookie cutter character they had to make a big deal out of it. That's the whole problem with this DCEU, they just keep making films as if their universe is already established.

A more logical course of action obviously would have been to make a Batman film with Joker and Harley and then move Harley to SS or make Joker the main villain of SS which they probably didn't want to do because they might have wanted him as the villain of a Batman film.

As for Leto, people who like him in the EC are those who liked him anyway and have already convinced themselves that he's brilliant. To me it didn't matter what his screen time was, if he looks bad and has a bad role in the story then nothing can save him because those factors remain constant, even acting revolves around the role, increasing his screen time only brings the flaws out more prominently. The entire vision behind this character his flawed, same thing as Lex Luthor really.

This take is just bad, plz just focus on Deathstroke in the Batman movie WB. Forget this guy for a long time.

Nah, I wanna see the Joker in the Batman movie.

How ironic they even badly edited his one new scene, he doesn't hit Harley (how predictable) and after holding the gun to his head it just kinda ends abruptly, like the editors learned absolutely nothing from the Theatrical Cut depressing.

The club scene was definitely the most telling - the ghost of Carrey's career searching for a new host :hehe:

It's not that the editors didn't learn anything from the theatrical cut. The studio simply doesn't want the abusive relationship to be in the movie (as they're afraid of including darker elements following the BVS backlash), and Joker would've hit Harley in the subsequent shots.

Obviously. But they still should have put more thought into it. Joker and Harley aren't exactly a romantic story.

They did put some thought into it. They just took out everything Ayer had thought about.

Geoff Johns talks in the BTS how he loves this Bonnie & Clyde version more than the comic versions so it sounds like he/WB are behind that.

The added dialogue is just as cheesy as what's in the book but I didn't mind since it fits in with the rest of the movie's style.

Yeah, I don't really trust Geoff Johns with movies. Never liked the guy. He was pretty much the driving force behind Green Lantern, and pushed the filmmakers to make it more similar to his version from the comics, which let to constant rewrites, despite the set schedule, and a vision of the mythology which is all over the place. The movie would've turned out much better if they had simply stuck to the first script draft and let Campbell do his thing.
I always get the sense that Johns likes to be the only 'big shot expert' in the room, in order to push his ideas.
I'm not a fan of his sensibilties, even in comics, and think that he's vastly overrated.

Do this jokerleto deserve to be the villain on a batfleck movie ?

his look was great, but he missin somethin

that scene with harleen on the road , was terrible . the way he was acting was just "no no"
Jared leto lack charisma as joker, just look at jefrey dean morgan as "Negan" on the walking dead,

but we never know ,with another director everything possible

Apprehensive about his rewrites in JL?
