Jared Leto IS The Joker - Part 3

This Joker just looks......majestic...in a sick twisted way....he really does!

I LOVE the look!

He probably got his teeth knocked the hell out after a fight with Batman...hence the grilled teeth!

Can't wait till he is suited up and clothed!
Hey I'm cool with the idea of Batman knocking his teeth out - hell, dentures would be pretty cool! You could do a lot with that. Aesthetically, chrome-ass grillz look stupid.

Even the tattoos and metal teeth? Because you know that's exactly what everyone's referring to.

Tattoos, metal teeth, shaved eyebrows, the shade of his pale skin, the application of eyeshadow, etc., etc…

The Joker / Manson debate is tedious. They look similar to some people, and not similar to others. Its like that whole "is the dress blue or brown" nonsense again.

Those "overt similarities" have been around since about the 60s. Because they have white face paint and similar face shapes the design team "took a lot" from Manson?

This isn't a chicken and egg situation, the Joker and most of his defining features came about before Manson was even being baptized.

You mean like the tattoos and silver teeth? Those have been around since the 60s?

Since that's what I and others are talking about.

No 'The Panthasm' I'm not seeing an armpit ONLY. I'm talking about the tatoo he has on his bicep. It's a BIRD!!! We'll at least that's what I see. That's why I asked.. Robin?

But you are so busy with some other things :funny:

People are acting as if he's gonna look like this the whole movie with no suit and everything. :whatever:

I swear, this is 2007 all over again.

I don't get all the complaints. The only thing I don't like is "Damaged."

Without the "Damaged" and grillz in the teeth, I'd be thrilled with this.

The body tattoos are awesome, I think, and everything else is great.

Oh sweet, I'm glad he's going to get his permanent tattoos removed during the movie. :o

So now tattoos and silver teeth are solely something associated with Marilyn Manson? Ok...

Let's forget that the teeth actually make sense, since they were probably smashed out by Batman. That doesn't feel as good as bleating on about them copying a has been pop culture figure.

My only concern is if the forehead tattoo looks distracting and out-of-place even with all of the other tattoos visible, how distracting and out-of-place is it going to look when he is wearing a suit and it is the only tattoo visible?

I think they're kind of lame tattoos, to be honest. But I wouldn't mind them if it weren't for "damaged." "Damaged" isn't just lame, it is an actively crappy and obnoxious tattoo that no self respecting person would get.

You don't have to agree with someone to understand where they're coming from, but due to your lack of understanding, I'll spell it out - no one is pissed that he's topless. People are pissed at the lack of eyebrows, the tattoos on the face (specifically "damaged") and the grillz.

He looks ****ing creepy as hell. I was just casually browsing Instagram and got creeped out for that sec.

....plus the teardrop J under his left eye.

Or maybe the people behind this Joker design took a lot of his look from Manson? Since there ARE several overt similarities between them.

Nah, it's prison life.

1: Marilyn Manson is great you take that back! :chad:

2: Just because there might be an in universe justification doesn't mean they're not copying Manson and the subculture he belongs to.

3: Again, as I said earlier, it's not a problem that they're copying Manson or people like him. It's a problem that they're using tattoos and punk/metal culture as a shorthand for "villain" and "edgy." That's kind of ******.

All historically "Joker things"...Good Lord, CBM fans are really the worst.

If there were ever a personification of "reactionary" it's the average CBM "fan".

C'mon, dude. It's not like that at all. This isn't about illusion or perception.

The pale skin, tattoos, and metal teeth aren't something anyone is imagining. His look IS somewhat similar to previous Manson looks and there's literally no denying it. I didn't even think of it until someone posted those pictures.

I'm not suggesting it's a rip-off or anything like that, but I know you can absolutely see how people would draw this comparison.

Do you have any reading comprehension at all? Because literally no one has said that.

They're saying that there's a resemblance and that MAYBE the folks behind this Joker design took aspects from Manson's previous looks as inspiration and applied it to this version of the Joker.

Okay, as someone who is really excited for this movie, I am not digging this look at all. I don't like the punk rock angle. He looks like he works at Hot Topic. Everything about this picture is too blunt. Too on the nose. He doesn't looks scary, he looks like he's trying to be scary, and there's a huge difference between the too.

I was really excited when Leto was cast, but my biggest fear was that they would go with the rock star look, because Jared Leto...is well a Rock Star. He doesn't look like The Joker. He looks like a punk rock band's frontman. I don't like it. I don't like how much he just looks like Leto.

But I understand this is one picture. I'm still hyped for the movie, but this took some wind out of my sails. I'm disappointed. Still, I hope for the best. I know his performance will be good at least.

Wow, I truly don't think that I've been this disappointed in a while. I loathe this design of Joker and can't really get my head around it. The tattoo of the jester is a nice touch ala Harley Quinn, but this just validates those awful comparisons to Marilyn Manson. Hopefully there are some serious changes to the character, at least he will have a suit on underneath I suppose.

I fear for the design of Harley Quinn now tbh.
