I like it but I don't dig the tattoos though I wait until how Joker portrayed in the film.

WTF is this real!
Finally we have a great looking Batman...we get this..

wouldnt the joker have a tattoo on his forehead that is the opposite of damaged?

I can't say I'm a fan of the picture....

BUT I don't think this is his full-time look. I think there's something to what different people have already said, he is acting like a prisoner. Remember, he is supposed to be in prison for most of the movie, so obviously he's not gonna be wearing his classic outfit all the time.

He reminds me more of a Joker goon from the Arkham games.

Here's something I put together. A little contrast, sharpening, and saturation.

It's pixellated because jpeg compression does that to fine detail. If we saw a high res or uncompressed image it wouldn't be pixellated.

Also, how would being pixellated be evidence it was photoshopped on? It's perfectly simple to photoshop something like that and not have it be pixellated.

I was prepared for a lot of upset over this look when I entered this thread. I was not prepared for the most heated argument to be about how the corners of his mouth being rounded off as he laughs maniacally rather than being angular and pointed upwards makes his grin unrecognisable as The Joker...

almost perfect to me for a new franchise.

but i dont like the word damaged on his forehead. because thats the only tattoo that will be always visible when he has the suit on.

With any luck,he'll comb his hair in front of it.:o

Exactly! He looks like a low level prison thug.

He looks like someone who's a FAN of the joker. In fact if you search, you can find tonnes of people with almost the same tattoos - skull jesters, cards, HA HA HAs in the Killing Joke font, smiles. There's nothing original about it.

:funny:

I can't believe that Ayer, Leto and the rest of the people working on this movie actually thought this was a good idea. It's mind numbingly stupid.

I was thinking of that, especially jpegs compressed for web. But looking at his hairline, teeth, eyes and other fine detail areas nothing compress as detailed as the damaged tattoo. It is true that jpegs can favour detail over like colours for fine compression but it just doesn't match any other area on the photo. Couple this with Snyders tweet and I think it might be added, might be. We'll see I suspect in the following week.

Just because it was photoshopped on doesn't mean it is not part of the final look though. Till it is said otherwise, this is pretty much the official look of Joker.

Wow, it's impossible to google other examples of tattoos that say "damaged". You either get the joker or stuff about damaged tattoos. I wanted to see how many goth chicks I could find with identical ones.

If, as some speculated, the paparazzi photos of Leto holding the phone with the blurry Joker pics was a deliberate, staged leak by Ayer/WB, then it must now be considered a bit of a trolololololol moment. "Wow, these blurry photos make it look like we're getting a classic Joker ripped straight from the comics! And now, it's coming into focus, and... and.... AAAAAAARRRGGGH!"

he will have a lot of screentime in prison. so the first image is IMO perfect.

i bet that when outside he is wearing a suit. he will not be shirtless IMO.

i hope that in the movie Joker doesnt explain to a character that because of batmans punching he has those teeth. i know thatthey want to do this because of the 10 year old kids. but it would sound idiotic IMO.

He'll be singing Maroon 5 while stabbing faces.

Yeah, there's no reason they'd add it (if they did, which they didn't) unless it was intended to be there in the final look.

My only (vain) hope is that this is a fake-out and the tatts and grilles are fake IN THE MOVIE. Like, it's for going under cover or something. But I know I'm kidding myself.

Of course. We already know for certain he'll be wearing suits. Doesn't mean this idea doesn't still suck.

I'm just floating the idea out there. I mean if it is official its official.

Is it possible that if there's enough backlash the design will be altered? I honestly just hate it so god damn much, it's not Joker to me at all.

I know a stretch, was just wondering if something similar has happened before.

Here are my reasons this Joker will be amazing.
First and foremost, Leto is an amazing actor so by default no one needs to worry about his ability.
This prison Joker is just an example of how the Joker adapts. In the comics he is described as having a hyper personality that adapts to whatever environment he's in at any given point n time.
Having tatts all over his body is his way of dealing with the situation of being in a maximum security prison outside of Arkham. The fact that the tattos are straight out of the comics is just awesome. 2016 can't come soon enough.

De fork is dat?
Is that how he looks like in the Arkham Asylum graphic novel?
