Jared Leto IS The Joker - Part 5

People really think Leto looks to buff? I've been lifting weights for ten years and
I can tell you when he has a suit on you aren't even going to notice his muscle. He would be seen as small and cut in a gym not buff.

If so..The hair is a darker shade after all!

Lighting, photoshop, image quality, etc...
It could be any of the reasons mentioned that we have the image as it looks.

I know but I meant perhaps it is darker in the film as I expected. Lighting or whatever the reason is,I believe it will look that dark for most of the film

Yeah I don't have a problem with a fit and wiry Joker.

Leto's natural body-type is lithe, so it's unlikely he'll end up looking hulking or anything.

Wouldn't even mind a Brad Pitt Fight Club type physique if they are really going for a more physical Joker

I actually think the one that seems to really be the bone of contention, DAMAGED, will be covered by Leto's hair and this whole thing will look like a tempest in a teapot. Look at the reveal picture... He's pulling his hair back and the tattoo is pretty close to his hairline.
:hmm
Keep Leto skinny = "Retreading old ground"
Get Leto beefed up = "This isn't my Joker!"
So true :funny:
I recall some report that claimed he'd be covered in scars, seemingly from previous battles with the Batman. Were the scars actually tattoos? Or is there something we're missing here.. hm..

Another here suggested it might be that he covers each scar with a tattoo, as well.. but I don't really see any indication of that at least in the image we got.

The more I think about it the more I am suspicious of that tattoo'd image myself, if it is what it is or something else.
Would be sad if it's something else because the look has grown so much on me.. I liked it to begin with but now I really like it.
Interesting...
Indoor film lighting and filters will make something look different than it would in a paparazzi photo taken in direct sunlight.

It's not that hard to understand.
Are you sure? :o
The hair is the least of my concerns with this design. It's brighter than what I would've preferred, but I've seen the character portrayed a number of times with a similar shade so it's perfectly acceptable. And given that the character's skin isn't chalk white and his lipstick is pretty dark, the brighter green helps his hair to pop in contrast to these details. Had they gone for a darker green here, I feel he might have looked a bit too sickly and washed out. The darker, moss-colored hair only really works to full effect when they commit to the snowy white skin.

Just my two cents.
Nice post!
Ben Affleck was recently spotted in Toronto. Maybe we might see Batman knocking out Joker's grill.
:hmr:
If his hair is going to be the same as in that pic is his skin tone going to be the same too? is he going to be wearing sun glasses and a puffy black jacket? Will he be riding a bike?

There is no proof to the contrary so I am going to assume yes. There is also no proof that the movie will be filmed in color so I am going to assume it is black and white. No proof this movie won't be rated G so I think there is a good possibility of it being rated G.
:funny:
Just because the mask covered his "BIG GUY" forehead tattoo doesn't mean it wasn't there :o
:funny:

He looks like a Joker Thug from Arkham games. Until they come up with "it was a celebration thing" that's the case.
So if he's dressed as a nurse he's a nurse of Arkham? at least I got that is just another role he's playing in Belle Reeve.
Looks to the opposite, considering what the thugs in the Arkham games looked like.

True post for the win!!!
Of course its the real deal. But you don't know its context in the film. Like all promo material, it only gives a glimpse, not the whole story. Thus, its okay to be critical without panicking.
You aren't allowed to post logical posts here.
Our first pic of Bane also featured the character shirtless, but it wasn't his "big look" in TDKR or even the one he used for a majority of the time.
This.

Why can't he say? He's not involved with the production?
He said he doesn't work for WB, but has contacts and lives in Toronto.
The tats can both be in the film for a scene or two and be released for the 75th. Doesn't mean they are how the character looks all the time. We have leaked pics of him wearing a white costume which would cover up most of the tats.
This too, baby!!!
Lex luthor and Superman are going to be in the same movie and Joker and Batman are going to be in the same movie all in one year.
Oh yeah!
Boy, us comic book geeks suck, don't we? :funny:

Whoa! Stop there. Ledger's design was innately very different from the classic version, because it represented something different entirely. Leto's design takes the classic design as a starting point, and makes some stylistically questionable additions.

That may be because he had taken a great deal of venom.

You are both absolutely right. My late grandfather always said that nothing is ever as good or as bad as you think it's going to be. It is a statement that proves true of almost everything, but comic book movies more than anything.
Your posts (except the ones from Aquamo costume :o) are pure gold.
I want to start by saying that I don't buy the 75th celebration stunt thing.

That being said, the photo has generated a ton of free buzz and has a lot of people outside of the fan community talking. Even if the buzz is negative, it doesn't matter. The second they release a statement, everyone will be happy. They might as well ride out the free publicity. If they were to hit us with a new photo that looks more traditional and play the whole thing off as a big joke, it'd be in keeping with the theme of the character. Everyone that was upset would immediately be over it and WB would've pulled off a brilliant marketing strategy that no other studio was daring enough to try.

Again, I think the look is what we're getting. But it isn't outta the realm of possibility that this is just a ballsy marketing strategy.
Good post!!!

I don't believe so.

I've heard it's from a 30 Seconds to Mars video.
:hmm

We'll see that. I'm not sure that darker. That hair is really bright, then why don't put a more darker green? I think it will look darker than in the release pic. We'll see...

Take it as you want.

"He's missing scars (which we reported on a while back as mementos from his history with Batman) and the grill/teeth are a kind of WTF addition to the image. Our source elaborates that he's scarred on his back and arms and his skin is definitely whiter than what we see below. The tattoos are brand new if even real, and may have been added to cover up the areas where his scars will be."

I personally think they are right and he has scars, but I also think this look is his prison characterization that he made and will take on some part of the movie. But I could be wrong tho.

So the complete meltdown of half the fan base was entirely pointless and this is a lesson learning experience that should teach them to remain calm and see how things actually play out in the film? Who could have seen this turn of events?:o

Wait until we see actual footage and not judge a teaser pic? What is that? :o

That's probably the biggest give away that it's fake.

His hair is such a bright shade of green that even in a dimly lit room you'd still be able to make out that his hair is green. Take the leaked photos for example. They're low res and poorly lit, yet it's clear as day that he has green hair.

Here, his hair pretty much resolves to black, despite having a light shining in his face.

I do find it amusing that they're going through such efforts to conceal Leto even after revealing the design through official channels. I suppose its just par for the course.

Even Ledger got to **** around in costume while between takes.

There is a difference between disliking that pic, and...

I'll be honest. Now that the initial shock has worn off, I like and appreciate the picture of Leto's Joker more.

The only real killer for me is that forehead tattoo, really.

God, I remember that ****. Nolan missed an opportunity tho. Joker should have been riding a skateboard down grand avenue firing his gun when Batman was charging him on the batpod. #missedopportunities

The Damaged tattoo could just be a red herring meaning. Actually alluding to the scars and not his mind.

Shrug. I don't care about the tattoos, except for the the "Damaged" one, which is the stupidest thing I can imagine.

Rest of the look is fine. The less refined, more visually fractured look reminds me somehow of Morrison's post "Clown at Midnight" take on the character.
