JJ Abrams didn't write Lost for the longest time. It wasn't his thing after the pilot.

As one who stopped after the third season, this sounds a lot more satisfactory then I have been led to believe. The show's writers denied it because the characters werent dead the whole time. I dont understand why people seem so damn incapable of grasping what Christian told Jack in the series finale. The characters were alive on the island. Everything that happened on the island actually happened. Some of them died on the island. Sawyer and Kate left the island in the series finale and died sometime later. The flash sideways scenes are the only stuff in the show that took place in "purgatory".
So, no, the viewers that think they were dead the while time werent exactly right. In fact they were entirely wrong and still are.

Of course it got better. That sounds like my luck.Season 4 and 5 were great television. Once the showrunners decided on the specific number of episodes theyd need to finish the show they focused more in seasons 4 and 5 and didnt meander quite like they did in seasons 2 and 3. Season 6 is good, but the flash sideways stuff can get a bit tedious and some characters act very strangely in season 6. Sayid's character was damn near ruined. It made sense and had a logic to it that was in line with the rules established in the show, but as a Sayid fan it was upsetting.

I said Rebels is not nearly as good as Clone Wars and when you contested that I showed you that viewership of Rebels is only a fifth of what it was for Clone Wars (and falling!)NealKenneth definitely lied about Rebels.
Exactly.this isn't a fanclub for people who want to constantly heap praise on this stuff, if you're entitled to think Abrams is good for the brand, then I'm entitled to think he's bad.
I would gladly discuss the death of Star Wars in seperate threads from the fanboy jerking but those threads get locked. Talking negatively about the direction of Kennedy SW is not welcome around here for some reason.Everyone here complains about Star Wars in one shape or form. Plenty of posters I really like aren't hot on JJ or TFA. That's cool. You just come here to troll and talk about the death of Star Wars.
Fixed that for youPerson of Interest being arguably the greatest show of all time

That is textbook trolling. The woe is me stuff based in lies (what threads got locked and people complain about Kennedy all the time recently), while insulting other posters for daring to enjoy something can be nothing else.I said Rebels is not nearly as good as Clone Wars and when you contested that I showed you that viewership of Rebels is only a fifth of what it was for Clone Wars (and falling!)
What is your response to that?Exactly.I would gladly discuss the death of Star Wars in seperate threads from the fanboy jerking but those threads get locked. Talking negatively about the direction of Kennedy SW is not welcome around here for some reason.
Like Grooster once explained in a different thread, my feelings are more complex then simply disliking the new films. I actually was a strong defender of TFA until Rogue One and details about The Last Jedi started rolling out. That's when I rewatched TFA for the first time since theaters and saw it for what it really was. I understand that it makes it easier to dismiss what I say to pretend I am just a troll but the truth is more complex than that.
That being said, I am happy to agree to disagree and just wish the bullying would stop, particularly against Grooster.
Well I was going to say that, but then I feel like FC85 might show up when she felt a disturbance in the Force.Fixed that for you![]()
But you won't find me disagreeing with your correction. Will always thank Snow Queen for getting me into it. Best recommendation ever.
t:Abrams was the executive producer for the entire series and wrote the "series bible" outlining the entire four to five season plot. It ended up being six seasons but there is no doubt he was a very strong influence creatively for every single episode.JJ Abrams didn't write Lost for the longest time. It wasn't his thing after the pilot.![]()
Yep, for better worse, all the shows belong to the showrunners.Abrams basically shot the pilot and moved on to MI3. Just like he never finished Alias and Fringe.
Pretty much.Well I was going to say that, but then I feel like FC85 might show up when she felt a disturbance in the Force.![]()
Pretty much.
Also, the ending and/or later seasons of Lost have absolutely nothing to do with this thread or board, since J.J. Abrams had absolutely nothing to do with those things. Let's get back to topic, people.
Grootster and NealKenneth, you've made your feelings on the matter perfectly clear, REPEATEDLY. You're not being bullied, you're being called out for the repetitive nature of your posts that haven't contributed anything new to the discussion in a while. The reason some people see that as trolling is because after a while, the posts seem to only exist to rile people up, since they don't do anything else. That's why C.Lee deleted a boatload of posts yesterday, because they took the discussion nowhere. I don't believe you're meaning to troll, so please find a new tune or move on.

One rather interesting fact about this whole situation with JJ getting the job including writing the script with Terrio, it kind of feels like they had no intention of having Jack Thorne write IX. It is almost like he was brought in to push Trevorrow off. Rian was their first choice and there is no way he wouldn't have written the script either.
JJ is good a corporate speak. I doubt we get anything outside of just being really happy and honored to be back. But yeah, it would be interesting. Especially as his wife was big on him doing something original after TFA. I think it was their 60 Minutes interview where she really emphasized this.I wonder when we are going to hear more about the decision to hire JJ back and Terrio etc. I'm really curious to hear JJ's thoughts and what he has to say about his return and decision to do so.

He has written two things I have seen. One I really liked, the other I didn't. I wonder if JJ is doing this after the TFA is to ANH situation. Writing with Terrio instead of someone like Kasadan.I'm a little nervous about Terrio, but I think he's generally a pretty good writer who just wasn't suited to superheroes, so hopefully he can handle this universe a little better.
