The Dark Knight Rises Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake IV

Maybe it was along the same lines as his directing to Hathaway to tone down the femme fatale manner of speaking.

On another amusing note; I'm only finding out now on how over JGL is with so many people that I know.lol

Heck, one of my friends has dubbed him JGL, where in her definition means: Just Good Looking..lol

Yeah, I'd believe that. I don't see Nolan as a director who'd let actors have a moment of goofiness. I mean nothing wrong with it as long as he takes care of it professionally.

I know this might sound crazy but one way that the trilogy could go full circle is the following:
Regardless if John Blake becomes robin/nightwing/azrael or not I believe that
John Blake is the son of Joe Chill, the guy that murdered Bruce's parents. It is likely that Blake finds out about this later in the movie but it could also be one of his motivations for being a police officer.
Anyways, this might be a stretch bordering paranoia but the actor that played the part of Joe Chill in Batman Begins is named Richard Blake.

Hey, at least my spoiler is more creative than yours
Blake having a son named Robin
All in good humor though :yay:
Regardless, Nolan did say that the tale will be brought full circle. There are many questions still surrounding the events preceding the alley scene. Who is Joe Chill?
In some comics he is more than just a petty thief and he does have a son.
Also in Batman Begins Ra's al Ghul did mention attempting to bring down Gotham financially decades back only to have his plan foiled by Thomas Wayne. Maybe there is something linking all three characters.

I heard a rumor that Blake is nicknamed "Night Wing" by his fellow officers, but it's not what you think. According to my source, Blake
has an affinity for munching on KFC hot wings whenever he's on the night shift.

That would be the best twist ever!

More news on John Blake:

They call him "Robin" because he wears a red feathered speedo under his police uniform. It makes him feel comfortable when he's on duty.

Also, he has a reputation amongst fellow officers, which lead them to nickname him...
Dick.

He's also always

talking about his little bird

Again, you all are free to think and assume and make connections if it helps you enjoy the John Blake character more. But if the man, Chris Nolan himself were to declare in an interview and be quoted as saying that John Blake is by no means nor was ever intended to be any kind of iteration of a Robin or Dick or whoever, would we still be having these convos? Would people still make their own conclusion that JGL was indeed a Robin because that’s how it makes them feel?? Even after Nolan confirms it??

Why isn’t Gordon, Fox or Alfred considered Robin when they are doing more sidekick work than anyone in the series for Bruce…

After this movie comes out, I do hope Nolan & co clear the air and dispels these assumptions and parallels, because fact of the matter is, John Blake is not anyone other than John Blake. He is the eyes and ears of Gotham. He serves a major purpose to the story, but it’s not based on him EVER being anyone other than who he was cast to play. A citizen of Gotham. I guess we just have to wait till next week to have this really settled. Can’t wait!! :funny:

I agree 100%...well said.

Dick.

And rumor has it that "Dick" enters the Narrows because he enjoys being in tight places.

Alright guys I was a bit...lost....around the thread because everywhere else there were spoiler bombs and most people seems to have abandoned ship altogether.

Helped that the spoiler bombs around here explode into bits of genius :D

Honestly, i thought we wouldnt be getting anything after the featurette came out. glad there's a new tv spot and those cast-interviews.

As for JGL, people seemed to forget that

he's the real Batman love-interest in this movie

Great...just go ahead and give away everything about the movie, why don't you?! :cmad:

John Blake is...

the kid in Batman Begins that the Robin fanboys thought was Dick Grayson.
